Visualizations: Phase 1.

There are many sounds that I hear through the song middle. Its starts very slow with the piano and then that starts to repeat the same piano beat being very smooth. Then the sounds of the guy singing with the sound of snapping go into the repeating piano beat starts to flow very well together. The flow of the beginning part of the song makes it feel like the song is a sad song. louder vibration beat also starts to join all of the other musical instruments and sounds that repeat besides the guys voice singing start to get louder, but continues to flow together with a very rough loud sound. The vibe of song doesn’t change and the flow of the song changes a little with the beat by the lyrics having a deeper meaning when the beat drops.

Later on in the song when the beat starts to drop everything starts to change. The beat and vibration increase with a weird voice that sounds pleasing and catchy and makes everything very rough, but not to rough yet well enough to notice it. The Flow of the song changed from being Loving into a forgiving loving song. After that section of the part ends it goes straight to being a smooth rough sound with the other instruments and the guy singing. The song then repeats itself even when it drops the second time.

My Song that I chose

Sound Visualizations: Phase 1

The begining of the song Broken Record by Krewella, starts with a soft voice that slowly turns into an echo. Then the sound  begins to increase as the vocalist starts to sing. The sound of the song is very electronic but if you listen to the lyrics, the song is a little sad which makes the song interesting to listen to. Then after the chorus you hear the beat increase and turns into a five to six second electronic sound. As I did some reasearch on electronic music while listening to the song, I came to the conclusion that the sounds were produced by the combination of the following instruments : synthesizers,  drum machines and samplers. This instrumenst produce the amazing EDM (electro dance music) we hear and can create thousands of different sounds.

As I listen to the song I imagine a heart beat machine. At first since the song is soft, i see in my head a line barely moving at a slope. Then as the songs beat scalates, the line also scalated to the point where it detaches and it’s not just one line but many lines just flying across my head and eventually the black line that I started to see changed to thousands of lines that changed to thousands of colors like blue and red and all the shades that blue and red come in. It turns into a chaos. Then as the bridge pops up all those lines start to join together into one black line and slowly detaches and the cycle continues until the last verse and then all I see is the black line slowly becoing thin to the point where it desapears.

Sound Visualization : Phase 1

The song starts of with faint drum sounds and a muffled guitar. It slowly starts getting louder and then he starts singing. To me it sounds like a kind of raspy rough voice. It continues for a while until it starts sounding muffled or as if it’s underwater and then you can only hear the beat of the song. The way I imagined this if they were lines or shapes would be with a kind of rough thump that continuously occurs. The thump would be a rectangle shape the increases and decreases in size.

I also see a very sharp line increasing and decreasing in size as the clapping or drum sounds occur. I continue to imagine this as he starts singing but later on when the song sounds muffled, I picture the thumps and sharp lines starting to get very wavy but still preserving their rough texture. The song is very repetitive and I picture that throughout the song. I would also picture the lines and shapes moving up and down to the rhythm of the song.

The song “Here Comes the Night” by Dj Snake and Mr. Hudson is a repetitive beats with mellow melody.  It talks about how an individual becomes really emotional, upset, and maybe a wreck when they’re partner leaves them. The person that left the individual brought joy them, however since they left, it feels as if there was nothing left for the individual and faces dark days. In the beginning of the song, the mood is relaxing and it feels as if your entering in another void. The individual is feeling a lot of pain and is in another world. It would sound like background music for a maze or a national geographic video for astronomy.

Throughout the chorus of this song, it has an uplifting moment, the rhythm get faster and has little changes ever second that comes on. This part relates to how the individual needs to uplift themselves and not look down. Then towards the end it slowly dies down and you could hear how it was being energetic to mellow. Each rhythm stops for a short mili-second, then picks up quickly. Towards the end, the rhythm slowly fades and echo out quietly, the individual faces the fact that they’re partner has left and need to move on.

Right My Wrongs by Bryson Tiller contains a smooth, floetic melody along with an upbeat tempo.  Due to this rhythm, most of the sketch contains a variety of curves that flow amongst the page.  However, most of the lines were not always repeated as the song continued. As the rhythm became more upbeat, I began to form very close aligned lines that moved up and down to portray the beat of the song.

The artist, Bryson Tiller, describes his recognition of his faults in the relationship with a girl. He explains throughout the song that he never meant to put the girl in all the positions she was in. He basically is asking for a second chance and for forgiveness to gain another chance to prove himself to her.  The melody and lyrics of the song can influence the feeling of the artist onto you. This helps gain a better understanding of what is occurring.

Satellite -Guster

Satellite by Guster, has like a very soothing and flowing melody. Thats why most of what i sketched is curvy. The lines that are repeated the most are the beats that were most familiar to me. There were some lines that were not curvy at all and that was towards the middle of the song, where i heard this one single beat that stuck out to me.

I tried my best too just feel the music and go with its flow. The artist is describing a girl as a work of art. She’s his “satellite”. On the final product of my sketch I’ve realized that it looks like the sky. which relates to what the artist is communicating, the girl is his all. She’s always the first star that he finds. It’s a love song. The soothing and flowing melody makes you fell and understand his drive towards her.

Calling To The Night(Link)

Hours took for project: 1

The song starts off with a flute intro with piano. It is smooth and flows together not slow, but not fast, it gives the air of an introduction to a memory. The sort behind this song is of a war veteran loosing what little he has left, and only having memory and tragedy. A woman beings to sing, it is soft and echos. The beginning of the song sounds like the start to a story of a memory.

The flute quiets and drums and trumpets begin to sound, making the song dramatic. The woman’s singing sounds more desperate as she sings,”calling into the night…fighting for what’s right…” The song continues on with the trumpets and drums rising and falling with violin in the background giving a touch of sadness to the war-like sounds of the drums and trumpets. The song quiets towards the end and the flute is heard one last time with the woman singing in a hushed voice that slowly fades away.

Sound Visualizations: Phase 1.

The song is smooth, but it has this deep wonderful piano sound then it gets louder, and deeper with the singing. The singing connects everything like a line. It gets deeper,  to the peak, then down and up. At certain points, the singing shows signs of getting deeper which also connects the softer points. Then it pulls a 180 with it concluding everything at the peak with it getting a little lower, then all out without overdoing it.

Even then, the deep, but smooth female voice is smooth enough without interfering with anything. The theme of the opening lyrics is equal to the strength of the singer’s singing. I can feel the images of each animation in my mind going along with the flow. The background music created from instruments also fits the flow of the song, and animation.

It is like a slow motion intro with a lots of memories in it.  Then the rap hits in for more memory. The rap was cut in a sudden with soft sad voice continue with the lyrics  and repeat. It is like a smooth soft straight line at first, then the rap is like a hit that turns the line in a different direction. After the rap is ended, the line seem to be back on track with the smooth line. The lyrics was all repeating about seeing you again. This can be symbolize with a repeated image of a face.

When they look back at their pathway that they had been went through together, they saw their hard work and wanted to share the memories with each other when they meet each other again. It show that the songwriter is looking forward to being reunited with his friend. This part can be symbolize with footsteps on a pathway. As you going  in deep in the lyrics, it talk about one is wishing the other one to have the best. For example, like how he chose his way in the future, it will always lead him home.It shows that their friendship had been going hard even when one of them is not here anymore. This can be showing with a straight line, then split into many lines going different direction.

When I first listen to the song, I though was some kind of love song, but when you go deep in it, you found out that it was for memorial of Paul Walker that had been pass away. The song represent sadness after you know the story behind it.

When the song starts, it has a very gentle beginning, which I symbolized with straight lines. It then quickly escalates into a bold beat that feels like hammers on stone. This jump is what intrigues me in this song. From then, there are also vocal choirs that give the whole song a spiritual sensation. The percussion used in the song also helps to keep listeners interested in what comes next.

Then there’s the actual rapper himself. When he starts, the words he uses tend to immediately grab your attention and pull you into the beat. This also makes it feel like he is radiating a wavelength of power. He then starts to synchronize with the beat of the soundtrack and completely engulf you in the sound, like a bubble.
