I remember when “Dancing with Myself” came out. The sound was so intense and everyone liked it — a mix between … don’t know the genres, but a kind of good rock song and New Wave, and it sounded kind of like The Romantics, a group I really liked much better after I heard Idol. Anyway, I just looked the song up and learned a couple of new things. One is, that there’s a lyric I never heard properly about “empty eyes”:
“Well if I looked all over the world
And there’s every type of girl
But your empty eyes seem to pass me by
And leave me dancin’ with myself.”
Cool. Poetic. Sad.
And another factoid is that the guy who directed “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” also directed Idol’s music video.
Okay — I learned something. Now, onto G-d…
: )
Great list.

P.S. type-o: Hughes directed “Breakfast Club,” right?
