Guess what, tomorrow is TUESDAY!

You guys know what this means?! Potluck Tuesday is happening again tomorrow. Stop by at the 5th floor Lounge for more free food and snacks! If you have class, just stop by, grab your food and you’re on your way back. We all know the struggle of having class all day and not getting the chance to eat. Well here is your chance. Tomorrow at 12pm!

On the other hand, I hope everybody is doing well in classes. Please contact me if you feel a struggle or overwhelmed or if you need to be directed to a tutor. Midterms are approaching and many announcements will be made very soon. You guys know where to find me. Look out for us, First Year Program N506!

I have some good news and updates!

Hello guys!

I apologize that I couldn’t catch up with you today, again!

Today, I wanted to give out a handout I made that basically discusses the topics peer mentors cover. I will be giving this handout on Monday, so that it is a reminder of some questions you might want to ask.

Thank you for those who have given me or emailed me their City Tech email. There are only a few of you who still have not provided me with your CT email. I will have your copy of the contact sheet on Monday so that you can write it down for me.

GOOD NEWS! Potluck Tuesday is around the corner! As I may have mentioned before, The National Society of Leadership and Success is hosting a Potluck starting September 29th at 11 am in the 5th floor Lounge. There will be free food provided for ALL City Tech students. First come, first serve! SGA is sponsoring the first NSLS Potluck. I will have more information on that Monday.

As new college students, you will need help creating a good resume, practicing for professional interviews and even getting an internship for later on during your college career. Luckily, we have an amazing Professional development office at City Tech. It is located in the Welcome Center, past the front desks. There, they will help you create your resume, prepare for job interviews, and get you started on your experience as a professional student. This is an amazing source that we should all look into in our first years at college.

There are many fun events and activities at City Tech, which is a great way for you to get involved. Join a club, or even create your own at Student Life and Development in G516. As I always tell my students, it is fairly important that you get involved at your college.

More updates and reminders will be announced Monday morning. Again, you can always reach me during my office hours in room N 506. Follow us on Instagram @citytechlearningcommunities.  Please make sure that you are up to date with your Openlab posts and assignments. I’ll see you all soon.

The student Help desk is usually open from 9 am to 6 pm Monday-Thursday and 9 am to 5 pm on Fridays. Please make sure you are checking your City Tech email often.

PM Announcements and Reminders

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend!

Just a few reminders. Make sure that you have access to your homework and classwork on the Ways of seeing Openlab site. Don’t forget to post your assignments and comment on your classmates’ work as well. It is important that you maintain a clean, and organized ePortfolio with all your work. If you are having any trouble posting something, please feel free to contact me. Also, make sure that you are prepared to work in class on Wednesday.

For those of you who have access to your City Tech e-mail, please shoot me an email so that I have it. Its important to check and use your Student e-mail often to know important announcements and events happening on campus.

Student life and Development created a Guidebook App for students who have androids or iPhones. The App is called Guidebook and it’s a blue icon. It’s very useful for new City Tech Students to help them answer any question they might have.

The National Society of Leadership and Success is hosting a Potluck to all City Tech students every Tuesday starting September 29th. Save the date! More information will be displayed soon. Stay tuned!

I wanted to take the time to thank those students who came down to Student Government’s Meet and Greet. I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Its fairly important to know who your SGA staff is so that if you ever have problems in school, you know where they are. I always tell my students to get involved in school in order to have better opportunities. The SGA team is doing a great job this year and are located in room G400.

I hope everyone enjoys their Labor day. There are no classes scheduled for tomorrow. And again, if you guys have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time. I also have available hours if you would like to speak in person. Look out for us, N506, @citytechlearningcommunities!

Lovely weekend to you all.
