Technology has been able to upgrade these areas giving the client better quality of service.

Since information has become available in CD-ROM and DVD, these are convenient for the professional because they are found in local universities or libraries. Also, softwares have been developed where programs teach problem solving, counseling, case management and more. Therefore, professionals have easier access to the required information. Moreover, podcasting has also been of great use by professionals. Audios and videos with information are sent to professionals without them requesting it, in order to keep them updated of today’s information. Ultimately, professionals can acquire information more quickly and this helps to prepare themselves to help improve more effectively the well-being of the clients.

These tools are made to manage resources and deliver human services. These sets of tools and methods help the clients by receiving sources more efficiently and effectively. A client will be able to have greater well-being with these tools and methods.

Describe some of the limitations of managed care and how it can impact on well-being.                                                                                                                            The main limitation of managed care is gatekeeping. This method is to control access to services. A client who needs mental health services requires to have a referral from a physician. Therefore, this makes it harder for the client to acquire the services needed. Whenever clients go through this, they may see that having a referral is just a barrier for them to get services and this disappoints them.

Describe what service delivery means and how it promotes well-being.                 In service delivery a professional provides information to the client according to what his/her needs are. Also, a professional needs to make sure that the information that is being provided is accurate, useful and reliable for the client. Service delivery promotes well being because a professional has to make sure to take good care of the client. Eventually, the client will receive the services needed and will improve their well-being.

Therefore, when a professional studies about different cultures and backgrounds they acquire knowledge to apply it to their services. Hence, making it possible for them to provide taxes as well and from there resources can be made for everyone.

Since ‚Äúteaching a man to fish‚ÄĚ means to teach an individual how to help themselves. Ultimately, that is what a professional is doing: teaching the client to support him/her self. Therefore, if a client learns to support themselves then they have reached self-sufficiency and they can increase their well-being.

By having knowledge of various cultures, a professional is considered competent to deal with different individuals. When the professional has cultural competency, the services that he/she provides could be faster and more efficient. Techniques and solutions used to aid the well-being of clients who were in distress have evolved drastically over the years. Before treatment plans and therapy the source of clients problems/behavior was thought to be caused my evil spirits. Techniques used to aid clients in distress included using a crude saw to remove disks of bone from the skull called trephining. it was thought that by doing so evil spirits would leave the body. Also institutions like insane asylums were founded that treated clients poorly.

Throughout the middle ages our understanding of human behavior was limited and thought to be caused by evil¬†spirits. Although poverty and disease was high the government/society took on the responsibility to care for the mentally ill. This is when hospitals and insane asylums became major institutions. They housed and fed individuals in need. Now in present day more of an understanding for human behavior has been developed and a whole industry has risen.¬†¬†Through the knowledge we’ve gained treatment plans, therapy and a better understanding of individuals in society has lead to promoting well-being.

The mission of Obama-Care is to provide affordable health insurance¬†to millions of Americans without it. Through the Affordable Care Act Millions of Americans are able to get insurance they wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise. With little to no cost to these individuals they¬†are now able to seek the necessary aid they need instead of showing up to an emergency room when it too late.¬†This act promotes well-being to Americans because they can now afford health care and wont hesitate to seek help when its needed or too late.

Social philosophies such as individualism and social Darwinism were promoted to aid in the well-being of clients. These philosophies emphasized on the individual and promoted hard work as well as overcoming poverty. while laissez-faire promoted the responsibility of society to care for everyone as a whole rather than the individual.

Because of the mental health movement well-being was promoted in clients/society. Free human service and treatment was available to aid mentally ill clients. Also clinical psychology was developed that gave a more effective treatment.

The human service movement promotes well-being in society and individual clients through proper training. Due to the upraise of problems in living institutions were no longer responsible for clients in need but the community took on the responsibility which made it possible to aid more clients.

Benefits such as Welfare aid individuals in the process of rehabilitation¬†while they get jobs and rejoin society as productive individuals.

Back in the middle ages techniques that were used trephining the skull, beating, chaining, starving and bleeding. As time when buy these techniques were improved drastically. scientific therapies and treatments were created and were not at all brutal and harmful to individuals.

There weren’t any treatment or medication that would be given. They believed that the only way¬†a person suffering from mental¬†illness would be healed by cutting a whole into their brain releasing the evil spirits.

Obama Care’s mission to make sure every one can afford health care. A lot of less fortunate people were living without so Obama care was created to make sure they have the same opportunity as others.

Individualism was observed America as the place where anything could happen, once you are willing to do some hard work. Laissez-faire¬†didn’t really¬†promote well-being because the government took little interest in the less fortunate. lastly, Social Darwinism believes that those who are less compatible will not achieve and those who are very compatible will.

The mental health movement promoted well being because back in the middle ages people were treated very brutally. Pioneers such as Dr. Benjamin Rush and Dorothea Dix  fought for this horrible treatments to stop and be raised to a scientific level of study.

The human service movement promoted well being because it created opportunities for many to go into the study of mental health and become metal health workers. For clients this would be very beneficial to them because they would be able to get more help.

Exorcizing is religious rites done to take out the evil spirits from the body.

Although they tried to provide help the patients didn’t receive effective treatments and the living conditions were poor. Now in present day human service workers have to go through training and acquire knowledge. Going through training and gaining knowledge helps the professional determine the right treatment plan for the client.

Now people need to go to school and earn degrees to be considered a human service professional.

The kind of techniques used on clients to help them with their distress was in trephining the skull which would supposedly allow evil spirits to escape because that’s what they thought people had who were sick. Also through religious practice they exorcized the spirits in them. They also chained, beat, and starved the people and etc.

Lastly Social Darwinism which was basically everyone for themselves. The stronger and fit would survive but the weak wouldn’t.

And lastly online educational programs which provide access to higher education in human services and other areas.

Internationally global population is beginning to increase. So with the population growing their is scarce resources such as health care, education, poverty etc. Another big thing is international migration.
