Value-Added Portraits: Phase 1 – Discover
In these 3 photos, the lowkey is the darkest, it has a darker background and mainly focuses on the hand. It was taken at home with my mouse. The highkey has a lighter background and also focuses on the hand. The broad photo was taken in the class computer desks on a white keyboard as the background. Each of these creates a story of the hand working on a computer.
Value-Added Portraits: Phase 2 – Define
The right photo is the broad, you can see the broad range value because you can see the dark focus point from the white background. The focus point in the broad image is the nose.
The left i tried to make a high key type of photo that shows the dark focus on the figure which is the entire left side of the photo with a lighter background. But the main focus point is the eyes.
Detour
Detour (noun)
Definition: a deviation from a direct course or the usual procedure

But he was disappointed that on this route the city offered no dramatic prospect of itself, not even when he detoured up Mount Prospect in Mount Prospect Park. “It really should be called Ex-Prospect Park,” he grumbled.
I understand this word now because he took a long way up the mount prospect park and nothing is happening.

Sound Visualization Mashup: Phase 4
During this project i learned how to animate on photoshop. I usually edit videos on adobe premier pro. I never animated so this was a fun experience. After getting feedback about my animation, i was told to not fade the drawings in the end, after looking back at my video, i agree. I learned a lot on this so i will be prepared for next time.

The animation is 10 seconds long. I tested out many songs to go with this animation but there were only two that fit together along with fitting in with the animation. I have spinning images and some are wiggly. Then theres a few that are fade ins and most of them enter from the side. Overall i spent around 5 hours and is satisfied.
New lab trip
The first photo is the new lab and second is the farm shelf that was on the second floor outside of the 3d printing room. I liked the farm shelf. You can easily grow plants here and instead of gardening you can use the farm shelf. You wouldn’t need to wait weeks to get plants transferred to the city. Also instead of paying, you can grow your own. It makes farming available wherever you are, like the city where farms don’t exist. They even grow faster than it would in fields. It is also small and does not take up many space.

Afflatus
Afflatus (noun)
Definition: a strong creative impulse; divine inspiration

I understand this word because he was getting inspired by the city’s buildings.
Example: The afflatus of your idol’s work inspires you to work hard.

Perilous
Perilous (adjective)
Definition: Something that is dangerous or very risky can be described with the adjective perilous.

“Upon arriving in New York, he walked from Kennedy Airport to the nearby Crowne Plaza Hotel, a journey more perilous than he expected, because it involved a nightmare traverse of expressways with no curbs.”
I understand this word now because usually by airports, its big highways and no sidewalks for people to walk so it would be dangerous to travel by foot.
Example: School open during extreme weather is perilous for students.
