Dear Gallery Owner,

I am Elliot Vidalon, a communication design student in city tech, writing this letter to you because me and my colleagues are interested to be part of your gallery. We have created a glossument book inspired by Tom Phillips work, “A Humument. My interests are illustration design and graphic designs. During the first semester of college, I was given a project by my colleagues to create a glossument. I am very certain that this project of my glossument would be a good fit to your gallery.

All my colleagues had to write up 15 glossary words and use it for our glossument. In my glossument book, it contains words that I learned about throughout the first semester of my English class. Using these words, I create a customized book called “Cold fate.” Some of the words I used for my glossary book was Futile, Serene and Shun . Each words have their own picture and definition in the book. Please consider the art towards your gallery.

Color Harmony: Phase 4

So far, I’ve enjoy working and thinking about a design for my cover book and learning the combination and categories of coloring. I think what i did best was the cover book and it took a lot of time consuming and effort. One thing I could’ve done best is to add a little bit more on some of the empty space and try to blend in the image and the background. It’s been a pleasure working and learning graphics desgins, I’d enjoyed this class and learned a lot, I’m glad to have you as a student Pro. Specvack and hopefully I will see you around next semester any time soon. Farewell.

Color Harmony: Phase 3

This is my cover book for my glossary collection. The title of this book cover is called Cold Fate because the theme color of the book with the glossary cover is based on something sadistic way and it just describes the experience of someone or your lifetime. This cover book was made with white sticker tags, painted with black, blue and yellow gouache paint. One part I like about this project is the back of the cover book and there’s an angel character painted yellow, yellow represents light, hope, this psychologically fits certainly well with this angel. I also put two quotes on both the inside the front and back side and these quote are kind of like facts about our life time, experience we had all face and our coincidence.

Color Harmony: Phase 2

So, this artwork was taken from a mobile game I play, then photoshop it for some essential editing and Ai (illustrator) to place every color proportion in the image which is on the bottom of the image. I decided to choose this image is for being an analogous, I think it would be interesting to see all the color on the proportion bar blend in together that will converted into a monochromatic transition, for some parts. This charcter was design and own by Blustone, VisualShowers.

Color Harmony: Phase 1

The first image is a analogous for the color blue and purple that they are close nieghbors, monochromatic for the saturation of the purple background and complementary for the bit of yellow zippers and the purple hair with the background. This character is called Patrone and she is a bomber type (ice/ rock), and quite silence.

The second image is a monochromatic for the value of the background and the chrarcter’s clothing and analogous for the light purple hair and the blue on her physical appearance, dress and background. This charcter is Natalia, a noble wolf that weilds a spear, she’s a attacker type  (ice/ rock), very brave and serious in battles.

The third image is a complementary for the color red on the character’s appearance and the green backgroud as well, near complementary for green is complementary with red and pink is close with the color red and monochromatic for the saturation of the green background and a bit of the red on the character’s appearance. This character is Joy, she’s a support type (fire/ scissors), hard working medic, very caution, never misses a patient and makes her patients feel nervous thinking she has no experience since she’s young or so as they thought.
