The image I have chosen is a picture of a tree branch stuck in a fence. The image raises various questions. These are questions such as how did the fence get intertwined with the branch. There is also the thought if it was done intentionally. If it was intentionally done then the thought that follows is why.
I chose this image because I felt that it was very out of the ordinary. It almost seemed as though a tree was cut and the remains of it are stuck in the fence. However, it may be likely that the branch was placed there into the fence. This is likely because that is an area where people do a lot of things for art purposes. For example in that same area there is a wall spray painted with an interesting looking design. This leads me to believe that the branch may have been placed there intentionally.
The branch appears to be significant because of the fence. The pattern on the fence serves as a background that makes the tree branch stand out. The tree branch stands out more in the fence than it would in most other places.

Project 3:phase 1
Hours spent- 1 hour
The first image represents broad a broad range image. This is because there a similar amount or equal amount of light and darkness in the image, there’s a neutral clash between light and dark. The second image represents a high-key/light value range. This is because there is mostly light in this image and less darkness or shadows in the image. The last image represents low-key/light value range. This is because there is little to no light in the image, instead there is mostly darkness and shadows.
Value-added portraits: Phase 4
Phase 1
Overall this project was something new introduced to me and it also introduced me to the terms of saturation and grayscales colors. I never knew that the value of colors can be so indefinite. On the other hand I felt as if I could’ve done better in the paintings but all in all this project was a bit Moreno time consuming than it seemed but it was a good projects.
This project in total took me over 5 hours to do.

Value-Added Portraits: Phase 4 – Deliver
I learned a lot throughout this project. When presenting i got many feedback on my portraits and how to fix it, like my painting i should make my face lighter than the other parts of the clothes. For my lowkey portait it the colors of the background were hard to tell if its broad or lowkey. I learned about broad, highkey and lowkey.
In phase 3 i changed my highkey portait to lowkey.
Value-Added Portraits: Phase 4 – Deliver
This project taught me that i need to get better with painting and using brushes. And also that i hate dealing with glue. There are many things i did during this project i wish i could have done differently, such as my planning and documentation. I also wish that i didn’t have to see 15 cut out photos of myself. I think what’ll take away from this is that composition is just as important as the drawing aspect of it.
