Discover

When I was creating my mind map it was easy to do even though the brainstorming was a bit difficult at first but I got to get all of these new ideas and expand. There are a lot of things that drives my curiosity however, 3 of the many things listed I chose animals, nature, and water. But an specific animal I chose was a giraffe because they are tall creatures with tall necks that are unique because of their height. There is so much about nature itself that you can just find surrounding you, like the trees. There are certain things that can adapt to a different economy and still grow without a problem. Water is my last curiosity because as we all know it can be made into a solid shape or even to a gas, and probably left to remain as just a liquid form.

Define

When it came to having to draw thumbnails, it was a hard choice on which 3 to work on or I’ll have other thoughts that I’ll prefer to do or choice a different idea that was in my mind map.

Develop

It was a lot easier to fill in the thumbnails after all the ruler measures and recheck on the inches of the boxes and even the space between them.

Overall I liked what we did on this project. Even though at first I was struggling it got easier to do after knowing I was in my final draft and I was soon to be done. However, I think if we filled with ink it would of been alot more presentable.

REFLECT

This is my final , well inked and the clouds describe my curiosity about dreams and what further meaning lies in them , the second is a broken window edge and that is for curiosity of abandonded places to discover , and lastly the tree which is the curiosity of nature and how it works in mysterious ways.

Curious Artifacts

This is my mind map. These are most of the things that I’m curious about. I wrote down what made me curious and then I went from there.

These are my first sketches. The first one represents technology. It is a Venn diagram and it shows that we have evolved enough in technology to be able to use this diagram. The second one represents people. People drive my curiosity because of the stuff we do everyday and other things. Why do we do the things we want to do and why do we have different eye colors. The last one represents nature. This is my finished artwork. I think I messed up a little but I’m glad that I learned how to do this. It was a fun project to do

Objects of Curiosity Project #1

Think_Map_BR

Thinking map for the main objects like tiger, space, and plane. This format really helped improve the idea of making and made it easier to come to a decision.

My first draft was not at all the same compared to my original idea and to the conclusion of this project I made with the same objects but with a different format.

Final Draft project 1

My Final draft was what I imagined it to be with all my objects of curiosity. This final draft had more of my inspiration because of the details I wanted to incorporate.

Creating my mind map was probably the easier part of this project . Brainstorming and gaining ideas of curiosity and how it inspires me .

Define

Getting ideas for my thumbnails was probably the hardest part . Every time I stuck with an idea another would pop up and I would add it .

Develop

Putting the pieces together was easier it was just a struggle to maintain my hand steady .

Overall what I learned about this project was thinking how curiosity inspired and going into depth with it . Also getting to know my taste in design . For next time I would’ve liked to have probably a better method to filling in with ink .

My Curious Artifacts

This is my mind map. It consists of different things I was curious about at the time. I allowed myself to jot down whatever was on my mind and expand them a little.

I know my sketches are more on the rougher side, but that’s what I prefer. It helps me decide what I want to change when it comes to the final product. As for some of them not being on the mind map, I think they would be much more interesting to illustrate.

Last, but not least, my final product. I love to travel, having been to three countries outside of the United States. However, I would love to travel to even more countries and see what they’re like in person. Learning different languages will allow me to get to know about other cultures and traditions.

The water bearer represents my sign, and I wonder who came up with the concept of zodiac signs and astrology.

The devil with the pitchfork comes from my thoughts on hell. What does it look like? Does the devil really live there?

The two faces with music represents my curiosity of how music alters your mood. Music can bring you happiness, but it can also do the opposite. How?

Lastly, I wanted to know if love at first sight is real or not. I want to know if it’s possible in real life, not just in movies.

While doing this project, I learned how difficult it is to be extremely precise with your work, especially while doing the boxes. It’s something that requires a lot of time and practice. However, I think I did a pretty good job for a first try so I can’t complain.

I one thing i learned about this project is that designing isn’t easy as it looks, there’s a LOT of precise hand movements, and measurements that needs to happen.

I felt like i could’ve drawn more sketches just to see other drawings that i liked, but ultimately ended up choosing these three. On my next project i definitely wont do it last minute, and draw more sketches.

I chose these 3 objects because it reminds me of nature, and nature drives my curiosity. The butterfly because i always wondered how does the body of a caterpillar change into a body that grows beautiful wings. The water drop because i really want to know how a water drop forms that kind of shape where it forms a sharp end at the top, starting to wonder if water is both liquid and solid. And the leaf because i want to know how it manages to change colors during a certain season.

Curious Artifacts ~

This is where it all started from. As I was creating this mindmap I thought of everything I love and enjoy doing. These are the words that popped in my head immediately when thinking about the things that drives me to curiously. I’m basically curious about many things.

3 things that are important to me is Bubble Tea, Pencil and Sushi♡
My last and final sketch ☺︎ // Bubble Tea because I’m Asian, a pencil because I like to doodle, sushi because it’s my favorite food!

Things I learned while doing this project was that I am curious about many things.

I also learned the boxes we’re really difficult to draw, somehow I managed it.

I could’ve drawn more other sketches even though I do like the drawings I drew however, I can draw more varieties of the objects in a different way. In my next project, I will definitely draw more sketches and I will draw the boxes correctly since it took me half the class time to draw those 6 boxes.

Something I learned during this project is that making boxes is much harder than it looks. Something I could have done better is drawing smaller which is very hard for for I’m use to drawing larger pictures. One thing I can do next time is draw many drafts before drawing my final just in case I like something better.
