Genres

-Some genres that I feel more comfortable with is fiction and non-fiction, I can say that I learn them throughout my years of school. Every school year different genres were shown to read and write about. Their common rhetorical features is that both genres express information that may happen, just that in non fiction they state true information about specific ideas meanwhile fiction tells a story having false characters and false places.

-When writing I like to have the freedom to write because it won’t limit me from writing from what I truly think. However at times I think it is a good idea to follow a form of writing because it will get you to a point and it will help you organize your own paper.

One genre that I feel like I know and enjoy reading is fiction. I read countless amounts of fiction books growing up which has to be the main reason as to why I enjoy the genre so much. Common rhetorical features that come with fiction would mainly be imagery and illusion. Fiction books are based on the writers imagination. Things that can not happen in real life are usually portrayed in fiction novels. Fiction novels gives me the ability to write freely. When it comes to writing fiction has given me a certain style that I follow in order to make my piece of writing as strong as possible. Usually in a fiction novels, all the characters are introduced very briefly in order for the reader to not be confused on the rest of the novel. When it comes to my writing, I always give a brief introduction that really specifies to the reader what exactly I will be writing on for the rest of the piece. I never find a limit in writing, I feel like there is always a million things to speak on about one thing, whether it carries a specific trait or not is the simplest way to talk about a specific thing. Fiction has opened many doors for me in my everyday life, whether it is with writing or with trying to come up with a plan for my life.

Genres

#1. What are some genres that you feel you know well? How did you learn them? What are their common rhetorical features?

A genre that I know well is cosmetic. I have learned from YouTube, articles, magazines, and the workplace. K-beauty is “something” in the cosmetic industry. The problem of k-beauty is limited diversity: few shade foundations lip colors. It is because the main target marketing of k-beauty was Korean how small businesses overcome the power of large corporations. Big firms already dominate in Korea beauty industry so that It would be hard for the small companies leading the trend. Even though some small firms have really high qualities of products, It is hard to be popular among the customers. Common rhetorical features are how to improve their goods in a good way, what kind of texture of foundation would be a trend, and what kind of color would grab the customers attention in that season.

#3. How much freedom do you enjoy when writing? Does it help to have a form to follow, or do you find it to be limiting?

Not really. It is because writing is still the biggest concern of me. I am not enjoying freedom when writing. The following form is more comfortable to build ideas, but that makes me obsess to fit the style instead of focusing the content. In addition, finding a form seems hard to do it; however, it told me there is no right one. It means all the things that everyone does is right and every work has its own unique part and a lot of flexibility.

Genres

1. Genres I know oh so well are Hip-Hop & Horror. I learned about Hip-Hop through the neighborhood I reside a bunch of Hispanics or Black bumpin’ 50 cent. I learned about Horror by staying up late and tuning in to just random horror movies around October when I was really young. Hip-Hop has many different rhetorical features but the most common has to be with how they portray themselves such as their attire and Horror having to do with gore, blood, jump scares, and lots of death.

3. When it comes to writing I absolutely enjoy freedom simply because I can do whatever I want. Not limiting at all.

Genre

  1. The most I like the most and feel the most comfortable with is mystery,. I feel there is a sense of mysterious tone and it engages the reader to want to read more and engage with the characters deeper. Books and movies are two different scenarios you can feel the emotions through a movie but not as much in a book. Movies and books are written differently and thats what I like the most that there is always something more to the ending or things could of turned out differently .
  2. I preferably wouldn’t want to free write because it just gives me liberty and no standard of writing and without any correction on the structure I prefer to have standard and cohesive structure so my writing can be fluently.

Genres

  1. I feel the genres that I know well are research papers/persuasive (non- fiction), tragedy, and romance. I learned them from being assigned the genres in high school to write about. The common rhetorical features of Research papers are that you are ultimately trying to persuade the audience to believe a specific argument or theory. For Tragedy, you want to make the piece emotional and leave the reader heartbroken or shocked in a way. For romance, the piece tends to be an emotional roller coaster, for example switching between happy and sad.
  2. I don’t really like a having a lot of freedom while writing because I feel like a start to get off topic really easily. I find it to help if I have a certain form to follow because it helps me understand the point of why I’m wring and also helps me stay on topic much easier than having a lot of freedom or flexibility.

Genres

1)The genre I know well is Fairy tales. From my childhood till now I  have been always loved fairytales , love reading it and listening to it and even watching movies that based on fairy tales. However, anything that is related to fairy tales always makes me happy. It could be a fairytale costumes like Rapunzel, Cinderella, snow white or  beauty and the beast. When I was a kid I always wanted to be like the belle from beauty and the beast. I always wanted to be brave, beautiful and confident like her. Last year during my visit to Disney World, that fairy tale themed restaurant, shops bring the kid out of me. I think this is the one thing that will excite me for my whole life.

3)I like freedom when I write something because freedom gives me the opportunity to write whatever I feel or I’m thinking in my head directly express on paper. But sometimes some limitations for writing give students some point to write and not go out of rhythm and write something meaningful.

Genres

A genre that I feel like i know the most would be fiction.Fiction is something that has no limit its limitless. The reason I think I know fiction well is because I like to read a lot I like to read all types of genres but the genre I favor towards the most would be fiction. Fiction was my childhood,my mother would read to me all types of books like Harry potter, The lord of the rings,It changed my whole world it helped me explore things I never knew existed. The type of writer that I am,enjoys freedom I like to write whats on my mind and express my emotions though writing. It does help when theirs a format because it allows me to have a starting point and starting points is something i struggle with.Being able to be a free writer who explores all options and express how I feel is something I enjoy doing/writing,maybe that’s why i enjoy fiction so much.
