mission statement part 3

Mission Statement

A mission statement is a short proclamation or statement of what the overall goal is. It’s an expression, made by leaders and their desires and intent for the organization. A good mission statement creates a sense of identity for its employees. which could guide and inspire organization to succeed. Mission statement normally do not change their statements since they define their continuous purpose or focus.

Mainly I chose a mission statement because I believe my ideas and the reasons I became a designer aligned with that as well as what best represents me. For example, my art, my forms of artistic expression, my fashion choices, my digital designs or simply what attracts me as an artist boils down to how much of that art piece carry’s an identity or expression that creates a sense of purpose. It should be specific and a common guide or goal.

Hence, my artwork is usually straightforward and to the point. I create an objective and stick to it.Usually it shows what I am trying to show through my design and what message I want to get across to the audience. I also believe that a mission statement represents me because major companies like Amazon,Nike or Apple use their mission statements to inspire and interest their targeted audience. which as a designer I believe we can use to our advantage to help portray and accomplish our goals.

Project #3 completed

To navigate from New York City Tech you must exit from jay street and then its approximately like 2 blocks going down going to Fulton street. From there you can already see the train station to not just the A train but also the C, F trains. Afterward you have to head to the left of the train station like one block to head to Lawrence and Willoughby street near the R train exit of Jay St-Metro Tech station. There is also this address you can put on google maps to help navigate: 129 Lawrence St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, this will leave you in the same street where the view is at.To look for this angle in the photograph you have to look up and see the same design building. There are 2 different buildings the very first is part of the ASA college, the second building is a connection to the parking lot of the college. This is an example of Juxtaposition because here we can see that there is an old and modern type building due to the use of material seen outside the building.

Brooklyn has a lot of good things or places where they are some being relocated elsewhere but they weren’t removed. Even though it may not see the same like before in some previous years that doesn’t mean you never been or walked there but it got more modern with new places in the area. Walking through my juxtaposition area that I found was very relaxing and more quiet. Other would say it would seem pretty isolated. I think that many have their own perspective of going from a street and think whether it seems like a good place, quiet, loud, too crowded, or even too small of a space to even get to explore anything around the location of a cetain street. I prefer going through locations such as the one that represents my juxtaposition because I’m one of those persons that prefers the calm of the street and when I’m looking up I like to seem the glass windows reflecting the sun’s light into the building in front or even see the different from the first building to the next one right after that one and then the one right after the second one and so on.

Juxtaposition can be anything you see outside and be thinking about what you think of the certain location you are in or living near by. It all depends on what you think and what you like of a certain location, or the atmosphere itself.

Project #4 : Designer Statement

Part 4

A designer statement allows readers to gain insight on a designer’s thought process and the meaning behind their work. It consists of the designer’s inspirations, style, their perspective on things, and the message that they would like to convey through the work that they produce. It has no particular or set list of guidelines concerning the format. The designer is free to make it as short as a paragraph, or as long as an essay. It’s all up to the designer as long as there are no specific requirements that have to be met concerning institutions, businesses, or galleries. Having said that, the designer should, however, strive to include a few points that are key in allowing the reader to truly understand the thought process and significance surrounding an article of work. A designer should always explain the meaning behind their work by expanding on, who or what their inspirations are, what their preferred style is, the impact they would like to make, what the piece means to them, and overall, simply the purpose behind the creation.

Part 3

I chose this format because it allows the audience to gain knowledge on the designer’s creative drive and it also adds sentimental value to a creation. I strive to make sure that every piece of work I produce is as perfect, or close to perfect as can be. I want people to get a sense of how much time and effort I put into each piece based on how precise my work is. Additionally, I always incorporate some sort of meaning behind each of my creations, or begin a project with a set intention, all of which add value and significance. A designer statement can greatly affect the way someone views an article of work. Something that may come across to viewers as bland, boring, and meaningless, might actually seem to come together and make sense once the purpose behind it is unraveled. This format allows the audience to view different forms of work through the designer’s eye and their vision, which can often times add more worth to a piece than initially perceived. This is what I aspire to achieve with whatever it is that I create.

Color Interaction Pairings

This project was quick and easy to work on. I was nervous at first to be paired with a random classmate but, things ended up working out better than I thought. I chose a microphone as Ken’s icon because his main interest and passion is producing music. I also chose the deep navy blue background to represent his fun, laid-back personality, and, we agreed on yellow as the color for both icons because it compliments each background color well.

Value Portraits

Discover : Hand Portraits

             Posterized Self-Portrait

                   Scanned Painting

Overall, I’m happy with the outcome. Although this project was very time consuming and took me hours of tedious work, I think the final result came out great. It’s still not as precise as I’d like it to be, however, I didn’t know I was capable of producing a piece such as this one. This project helped me discover a new skill of mine that I never even knew I had in me.

Saturation Ranges

Define : Saturation Scales

Develop : Painting

Overall, I enjoyed experimenting with the different colors of paint and attempting to blend them into one another in order to create a new shade. For me, the most difficult part of this project was getting the colors of the sky to blend together seamlessly. Also, I rushed to get this project done which is why it’s not my neatest nor most appealing work. It definitely didn’t come out how I wanted it to, but I had fun working on it.
