This was the first part of the project, where we explored the different types of value ranges. We started with hand portraits and then we moved on to self-portraits. At first, it was difficult for me because it was hard to tell the difference between Narrow Value(light) and broad; I took a lot of broad value hand portraits and I could not get the right Narrow(light) hand portrait but I ended up getting the right one.

In the article “Brooklyn Was Mine” by Jennifer Egan, the author states, “After that, I found Lucy’s letters poignant in a way that they hadn’t seemed before”
In this sentence, Jennifer Egan used the word “poignant” to describe Lucy’s letters. Lucy’s letters are emotionally affecting Egan because she felt like she knew the time and place of Lucy’s death.

To get there from city tech, you will have to have to take the R train at Jay Street- Metrotech station to Dekalb Avenue or Atlantic Avenue. Or you can take 20-25 minutes to walk straight from the Jay Street entrance to Fulton street and then walk west until you get to Flatbush Avenue where you will walk southwest for approximately 10 minutes.
