To arrive here ,it’s a 5 minute walk. First you would want to come out of City Tech through the Tillary st. entrance. After that, take a right and walk down the block. There is always new buildings and roads being constructed (or reconstructed) and there just seems to be more of an absence of parks, quiet spaces, or just somewhere away from the crowded/busy city streets, where people can take a break from a long day. To get here from City tech, you’ll have to leave the school from the Johnson st exit, then across the street and you’ll find yourself on Adams st, and quickly back on Johnson st. You then walk down a block on Johnson st and make a left turn and find yourself towards the west of Cadman Plaza, so you across the street, make a right, and make your way onto Pierrepont st. In the article “Here, Poverty And Privilege Are Neighbors; Income Gaps Are a Source of Resentment And Guilt” by Janny Scott, the word opulence is used in this sentence: “…an area along the beach in Brooklyn where West End Avenue appears to be a stark line of demarcation between the serene old-immigrant opulence of Manhattan Beach and the teeming new-immigrant enclave of Brighton Beach”. Scott is saying that there is a clear boundary (huge difference) between a peaceful, wealthy neighborhood and a densely populated ethnic enclave.

To get there from city tech, you will have to have to take the R train at Jay Street- Metrotech station to Dekalb Avenue or Atlantic Avenue. Or you can take 20-25 minutes to walk straight from the Jay Street entrance to Fulton street and then walk west until you get to Flatbush Avenue where you will walk southwest for approximately 10 minutes. While doing this project, I found it interesting how you can convey a certain mood using lightning and only black and white. Something I could have done better was testing the paint before putting it on bristol since it was my first time using this kind of paint. I chose my current avatar because Deadpool is one of my favorite characters in the Marvel Universe. I also chose it because it remind me of all the comics, posters, and merchandise that are out there and how they were all drawn or edited which is part of what I want to do after I graduate.
