After a 14 hour bus ride from Paris to Barcelona we finally arrived at around 12pm. Thank god for international roaming on T-mobile because without it, it would have been hard to find our airbnb. Our airbnb was located a mere five minutes away from the bus depot and the hosts were Ana and Diego. They provided us a map and recommended places to visit, such as the church, and las rambas. Starved we decided to follow their suggestions and went to the Sagrada Familia church first, but along the way we stopped at an Ecuadorian restaurant called El Nano Bellaterra. Loved the food there because it was cheap and the portions were huge. We then continued on our journey a bit stuffed, and arrived at the church where we admired the architecture and noticed the construction it is currently undergoing. We were disappointed at the sight of the cranes and it wasn’t until we did some research online that we realized it would not be completed until 2026. We then decided to head to Montjuic. We purchased a metro ticket from the station and went on a journey. We took the metro to Parc de Montjuic where we then took the cable car up the hill. Upon arrival we walked around and realized we could go inside the castle of Montjuic, the admission was free because we arrived after 3pm on a Sunday. After enjoying the scenic view and taking several pictures we decided to head back to the airbnb and recharge a little. We decided to make our way to the beach hoping to catch a glimpse of the sunset. After walking about half an hour we arrived but was disappointed to realize the sunsets on the other side. While walking along the beach we were stopped by a local promoter and he lead us to a rooftop bar called “Danzatoria.” There we observed the view and how the locals spend their time at a club. Realizing the sky was getting dark, we decided to search for la rambla, a tourist and locals street in central Barcelona. Getting a little lost along the way we slowly made our way there from the beaches and arrived a little before 11:30. Wandered around for a little but had to make our way back to the airbnb before midnight because the metro runs until 12 AM.
