On Tuesday, November 12th I attended a field trip to the BRIC Museum. It was an amazing experience to see and learn new things. This incredible place stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. In the art gallery we saw artist from all over the world. The artist that stood out to me the most was Mona Saeed Kamal. She is a amazing person that show passion in here work. Her multi cultural experiences are directly engaged in much of her oeuvre. I love the color and quality of the piece. 1001 Migrations is made up of 1,001 hand folded and painted paper boats. Each paper boats is differentiated with pattern of flowers and plants.
She was nominated for the Joan Mitchell Foundation Award.
