Please note I am planing to record Friday’s class and make available for anyone who might not be able to attend. However I want to highlight CUNY’s policy on recording class Zoom calls:

Students who participate in this class with their camera on or use a profile image are agreeing to have their video or image recorded solely for the purpose of creating a record for students enrolled in the class to refer to, including those enrolled students who are unable to attend live. If you are unwilling to consent to have your profile or video image recorded, be sure to keep your camera off and do not use a profile image. Likewise, students who un-mute during class and participate orally are agreeing to have their voices recorded. If you are not willing to consent to have your voice recorded during class, you will need to keep your mute button activated and communicate exclusively using the “chat” feature, which allows students to type questions and comments live.

CUNY Policy

If you have any concerns regarding the statement above, please feel free to reach out to me via email and we can figure out an alternative.

To-Do Before Class

  1. Read and Review: Introduction to Project 1: ‘Get Out the Vote Campaign’ See details here >> Activities/Projects&Assignments/Project1

Topic & Agenda

Class 1 – Lab Work (Weds 9/9/20):

  • Class has been be divided into teams of 3 for working on Stage 1, 2, and 3, together.
  • For tomorrow’s class you should aim to connect with each other. You can meet during our Weds class time through a Zoom break out room, which I can help set up for you. If it’s more convenient to meet at another time that’s fine. Meetings can be done via, email, phone or facetime, or some form of video chat (please reach out to each other – contact info was shared in an email).
  • Each team should collectively research the ‘Get Out the Vote’ campaign, come up with a defined target community and a possible strategy for clear messaging. The goal is to present a ‘pitch’ to the class on Friday. See details here for putting together your team pitch Project1 – Stage 1, 2, & 3 – The Pitch>> Activities/Projects&Assignments/Assignment2
