Is happiness conveyed by a physical aspect or a state of mind that may not be visible/ Can happiness be earned or is a given? Can happiness be measured; or can it be stored for momentum? How happiness is obtained and kept has been an op positional argument in “how to buy happiness” by Elizabeth Dunn, and “what suffering does” by David Brooks. One would say that the two words “suffering and happiness’ contradict each other. When in fact they may be relative to one another. The idealist nature of happiness has been disrupted.

âHappiness,â is what people desire. Itâs been questioned by many on how to boost our own happiness. In âWhat Good is Money If It Canât Buy Happiness?â by Sonja Lyubomirsky and âHow To Buy Happinessâ by Elizabeth Dunn and Michael Norton itâs argued that the way we spend our cash not just influence, but can boost our happiness. In âWhy Conservatives Are Happier Than Liberal,â by Arthur C. Brooks, it argues that the way you live you life, your own beliefs are one of many factors on happiness. In âHow Happy Are you?âŚâ by John Tierney; it discuss the government involvement with promoting and measuring the happiness of the population. All of these text suggested that happiness is a desire that we can achieve in different ways.

Many believe that with money you have everything. When in reality what you make of your wealth is what you make of yourself. Often when people are asked what makes them happy or would bring them happiness they reply with money or material things. The question is what do those things really do to contribute to your happiness? When taken into your own perspective you might believe nothing, or you might think everything, when your emotional state shouldnât depend on stuff that you buy. In two articles named, âHow to buy happinessâ by Elizabeth Dunn and Michel Norton and âHow to buy happiness: what good is money if it canât be boughtâ by Sonja Lyubomirsky, they explore this idea and why materialistic items and money shouldnât be the equivalent to happiness.
