My name is Jessica Pareja, born and raised in New York City. I am 17 years old and speak two languages, English and Spanish both languages have allowed identify who I am. I am currently a freshman at City Tech and majoring in Communication Design. However, I’m still not sure if I would like to continue majoring in it. I come from a high school who’s major program is Television and Film. In there I was lucky to learn how to use cameras, and edit in softwares. Starting there we had to film and edit our own mini projects. During my time in high school I was allowed to find myself and I decided to learn my things. One thing that I enjoy the most is photography which allow me to capture millions of expression within one moment. Right now, I might not have a dream to what I want to do but I do have a hope that soon I will know. What comes to mind is do I want to follow photography or choose another path or staying in the same path I have chosen? As long as I can recall photography was the only thing I really enjoy. However, as a human being I have many passion and many wonders that I would like the world to see.

My consideration for my avatar is an image of a camera, believing that a camera well expresses me. I believe that the image of a camera helps people understand what I enjoy to do the most. If defining the word camera it is usually referred as a device for recording or capturing an image. The camera represents me in different ways first by showing of that I can hold and capture many ideas however, I only choose the best ideas to be exposed. A camera only flashes when its holder decides to shot when coming across an object. A camera symbolizes to me as of right now that I will be introduced to many ideas but once I decide what I want to do as my career I will only focus on that. Therefore, I believe with the help of my fellow classmates I can continue to grow as a person.

Other people might have different perspectives when they come across my avatar they might just view it as me just enjoying photography. They might not even know why a camera is posted as my profile picture because it doesn’t define me or simple because it has nothing to do with my major. One might suggest that it’s my hobby but they won’t think of it as being my career. City Tech might not offer photography as a major, not many colleges have that however I want people to understand that the camera is just defining how I’ll be able to learn and put away many important moments that will be presented in my life. I really enjoy photography it is something I’m very passionate on and hold dear on.

Overall my profile and avatar show images and texts that I can define on. The images presented allow people to show what I’m able to do even if I still don’t have my mind set up. A camera can be picked up and it shows even though I can’t do a wonderful art piece I will continue to try. No matter what happens I will continue to learn and fight until I get it right. If I decide to continue majoring or change majors, I know I will have the skills to present. Writing this biography will later help me encourage myself, once I come across something difficult. I hope in four years later I am able graduate and be proud for the person I became.

After hearing what my peers had to say about my draft, I feel that there was a lot I managed to accomplish in my draft, but their was still some things missing. I got good feedback in what was needed and what needed to be changed. The feedback helped give me ideas on how I can improve by work. Thank you everyone for the great advice.

My name is Dongmin Lin. I am 18 years old. I am a freshman here at City Tech. I came from China, and Chinese is my first language so I do not have standard pronunciation in English. I hope to improve with the help of the teacher and classmate. This September is the turning point of my life because I went to the college, it is a new environment, I feel unfamiliar to here. Although that I like here a lot. I never ever attend a school that is so far from where I live. I live in flushing, and I barley take the subway, Misdirection often lead to get lost, haha. I like children very much so my career goal is to become a kindergarten teacher, might be an art teacher. I like manual, such as knit scarf, cross-stitch. When I come to a new place I would be very shy, but I sincerely hope that everyone in our class can become good friend.

My avatar is a photo of myself. My best friend took the photo. And it was taken on the way to school during last winter’s morning. This image is very meaningful to me. At the time, I lived with my best friend. My friend and I were in same class together. We nearly spend all our times together. My friend enjoys taking photos for me, and she helped me to record my life. We ate corns for breakfast every morning because we think eating corns can lose weight. But she got married later, she has a new family, and she moved to the home that is so far from where I live .We rarely meet now. I miss her so much. By the way my interest is knitting, so I often go online to learn knitting with my free time. Certainly the blue cap and the wind red scarf were my first timework.

When people look at my avatar they might think I am a very active girl. Actually you really misunderstood. I am very shy and serious when I communicate with someone am not familiar with. Then you might think I like to eat corn. However, that is not what it seems. Actually I do not like to eat corn now. The reason I said this before is because there was a time, I was on my diet, and that’s why am eating corn everyday. You rarely see me make up. But I like makeup. Makeup can make me feel very confident and it makes me feel like am a new person. However, I want to arrive early and be in the morning class, and that’s why you don’t see me with the pretty makeup on.

My profile will convey my character, interest and my goal. You may think it’s very hard to communicate with me. But actually it is not. I want to upload this photo because I was a lively and cheerful girl when you really know me. To be honest I like to make friend, and cherish every friend of mine. You may notice the hat and scarf in my avatar. Yes that is my favorite color, wind red. And the cap and scarf have taken me a long time to weave. I know there will be countless mistakes for I succeed, but I finish finally. So I do not like to easily give up the things I am interesting in, even though it is difficult. But still, I will not lose my passion for advertising design. One of my goal is to graduate within four years. I know if I want to master the skill of English will not be easy. But I believe there will always have pay will have harvest.

This avatar tells a bit of a story about the person, but it keeps it rather secretive as well. We cannot see his or her face, except for the figures glowing eyes and dark presence they give off. Yet, they don’t seem to mean any hostility to anyone, it’s as if its just wants to stay anonymous to most of us, but it still wants to be known. could he or she be shy?, could they be an enemy or friend?. who knows? all we can do is try to get to know him and see what happens.

After reading the person’s profile, I can say that the person does not have much to say about themselves, rather than they want to do something with their talents, creating a decent career while doing what they love. that’s all there is to know about the person, ither than that, the person still remains quite the secretive type.
