Caryn:Bio

Caryn is an Emerging Media major. I hope to one day open-up my own company.  She believes that she is a very computer illiterate and very good with technology. Ever since she was young she enjoyed graphics, technology, music and anything that has to do with media. She haven’t really done anything collaboration wise but she is the media person in her church and she have grown to love what she does. If  Caryn does not know how to do something, she does her best to get all the necessary tools and information to get the job done. Caryn feels that Emerging Media will bolster her strengths in a major way. Currently she is doing all that she has to do to build towards her future.

Each and every morning I start off the day by waking up, then taking a shower then eat breakfast along with checking my emails. Then I get everything prepared and start to get ready to leave for school. After a walk/run to my neighborhood train station I await the Q train to take me to Dekalb Ave. Eventually after waiting for so many stops I reach the stop, get off the train then go up the stairs to the entrance. Eventually I walk all the way to school or the building I need to be at after a long distance.

If I could create a device that can help reduce the time of me approaching many of the places I want to reach. I would go try and hope to make traveling on the MTA easier, as there are times that the trains come and leave without much announcement from the train station I live at. Along with the problem of trying to use my Metrocard that the scanner tends to delay with scanning.

Lukasz – Algorithm

Wake up, if alarm is working then turn it off, if not then go back to sleep.  If alarm was on nd I turned it off, i then go on my ipad and go through facebook nd other websites to see if anything happen when i was asleep.  Once I browse through, I get up and go to the bathroom.  I brush my teeth and then get dressed.  I leave my house and go to the train.  If I need money I go to the mta machine and put money on card.  If not then i pay my way through to the train.  I go to school and hang out in the crew room and then go to class.

If I had to create some sort of device that would help myself or anyone getting through their day it would be a tracking system for trains that will let people know when to leave.  I know there is probably some like it, but none of them are successful.  By having a tracking system app or something to track trains, it will give riders the appropriatetime to get ready and leave and not cause riders to be late to their destination.

Everyday ,one of the routine that I have to do throughout the week, everyday or almost everyday is getting up and getting dress. Before getting dress I usually take account to the weather and make the appropriate choice in clothing. Sometimes I would forget to get an under shirt and end up freezing during cold days or I over dress during a warm day and ended up walking out and sweating a lot. Sometimes I would forget about checking the weather entirely.

I would love to be able to invent something that act as a thermometer and at the same time something similar to a automated closet of sort which can provide the clothing appropriate for that weather and day. it would just sense the weather outside and display it like a weather apps on the phone then the closet would display the type of clothing appropriate and shows it to you through material type, density and weight. It could select a group of outfit for that weather and from there you can obtain your outfit of the day and there’s no need of checking weather everyday then digging out your closet for the right jacket.

GET UP to Wake Up

There are a few things that I do daily, mainly, its actually getting up! I usually stay up all night and get up in the early morning. Days where my body crash, I sometimes miss the VARIOUS alarms that go off on my smart phone. When I do hear them I just press snooze or slide the screen to turn it off. Eventually I have to rush to wash, brush teeth, put on clothes, then grab what I need for the day. I don’t eat until i have spear time later on, sometimes I’ll drink some water. If I would just get up, my morning routine will make a better day.

I propose a solution to make starting the day better! A BED ALARM. No noise needed (unless someone wants to add the feature). I will set an robotic bed to move automatically in an upright position or a 90 degree or even 45 degree, smashing you. 🙂 This way a person isn’t comfortably lounging in bed, dreaming that they are up, but actually forced to get up. Adding a mechanism that propels you off the bed will be an added touch!
