Brooklyn Cupcake was founded by sisters Carmen Rodriguez and Gina Madera in the year 2010. Located in Williamsburg 335 Union Avenue. What came to just be a hobby in Carmen’s home kitchen she started making Latin and Italian flavored cupcakes, which now she is the owner and baker of Brooklyn Cupcake. With the variety of different flavor cupcakes, the best seller has to be the Tres Leche topped with a mascarpone whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. You can make orders online or by phone with weeks of notice.

Anarchy in a jar is a place to get fresh made jams, marmalade, mustard, etc. It was founded by Laena McCarthy in 2009 and they strive to use locally grown produce in their products. Each batch of jams, jellies, marmalades, etc. are all made by hand through techniques that combine the old and the new. Anarchy in a Jar is located in Brooklyn. Their products can be seen in a few stores, but it can also be purchased online.

Stone Street Coffee Company is a coffee roasting plant located in Gowanus, Brooklyn that was created in 2009 and has their own custom built roaster system that is said to maintain top quality within the beans. They produce small batch roasts for distribution to large wholesale companies and the finest restaurants. Tin Mustard is a mustard company that makes their products in Brooklyn, New York. Tin Mustard was started by three people, Tin Dizdarevic, a Slovenian-born trained chef, his late brother Jan Dizarevic, and David Ostroff. Tin wanted to create a new, different flavor to give his dishes a unique taste that can only be made from his products. Hence, Tin Mustard was made, a whole grain mustard with uncrushed seeds giving the mustard a creamy caviar texture. Tin Mustard is sold in stores and used in restaurants in California, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington DC area, and online.

The company creates mayonnaise with many exotic flavors and combinations to fancy any and every flavor palate. Chef Sam Mason only uses non- GMO oils, local, pasture- raised eggs, and seasonal flavors. They constantly showcase their products throughout the five boroughs, as well as, sell online. They have no experience in culinary training but were able to create different fruit combinations by experimenting with ginger beer. They started by making it in a house. There are different flavors every week that comes out fresh. One of the places they sell it at is the Brooklyn Flea market.    Better off Spread is a small local business owned by Jenny & Jonny, a couple from Brooklyn. They have a dream “channeling their crazy into a spreadable empire”. The location is 261 Smith Street, Degraw & Douglass of Brooklyn. They sell six kinds of nut butters: And Justice for Almonds, Enter Cinnaman, Every Rosemary has Its Thorn, For Cashew, The Bell Tolls, The Ace of Spice, and Jalapeno Be Thy Name. The most popular product is And Justice for Almonds, which costs $13 dollars. Their nut butters have not oils, fats, preservatives or sugars only natural ingredients combined to make awesome flavors. Significantly, they use organic, GMO-free nuts. They chose Brooklyn as their location because it’s been their home for many years and as of late has become the “Silicon Valley” of the small packaged food industry. The advantages are that there is a very big, helpful community of people who are more than happy to network and work with each other. Salty Road all started in the late June of 2011 in Brooklyn, NY by Marisa Wu. It is a company that sells handmade salt water taffy that is different from all other taffy being made. They are much softer, and creamier, and also consisted of five different flavors, such as Bergamot taffy, Caramel Sea Taffy, Peppermint Salt Water Taffy, Salty Peanut Taffy, and Vanilla Taffy.  The price for the taffy is sold for $6.50 for each pack.

Salty Road Company sells their product in the retailer stores in California, Connecticut, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Manhattan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington, DC, Canada, and mostly in New York.
