During spring break, on April 7, I attended the MoCCA Arts Festival 2018 from 12 am to 2:30 pm. This is my first time at this huge event located at MetWest at W. 46th St. between 11th & 12th Ave. My ticket cost only 7 dollars a lot cheaper than many other events. When I arrived at the first table was my professor Eli Neugeboren who recommended this event. I was so happy seeing my professor and other students seeing many different artworks and design from many talented artists. About 400 exhibiting artists were displaying their work. I met a lot of illustrators, cartoonist, character design, and many independent artists. Also, I collected many business cards and spread mine as well. One of the guest honor of the day was Mike Mignola the creator of Hellboy. This was a great networking event and an inspirational time for every young designer. Some small company has design books and design postcards that were free. I took home three free books and I only spend 20 dollars on zines, a pin, and stickers. After attending the MoCCA Arts Festival I recognize that for young designers events like this one shouldn’t miss out.
