NoMo Hotel was the first hotel that I have ever visited as a student. It was an amazing experience to get to know the internal system of how a hotel functions. This tour gave me a basic understanding of how each room may be priced differently than others, as well as what kind of services are including within a basic hotel reservation. One thing I would want to learn more is the routine of certain positions, such as front desk, marketing team, or culinary department. An important skill that I believe I need to be trained for is having the patience and determination to serve guests at a luxury hotels. The reason behind this is that, a luxury hotel should fulfill all needs of their guest. However, these needs may become difficult at times. Thus, in order to continue in this industry, learning the communication skill to serve guests is essential.

Visiting NoMo hotel was a great opportunity for me to gain experience from the staffs, all the people in that hotel are amazing. Nomo hotel is a  four-star hotel, when we went to the hotel last week, they gave us free breakfast. During the time of visiting, I have a chance to see all the different types of rooms and what amenities they provided for the guests. In the Nomo hotel, they provide a smartphone for their guest, in that phone, people can get a lot of guides. This is my first time going to a four-Star hotel, the relationship between the people in the hotel is very good, so their teamwork is very good. When one of them has encountered difficulties at work, the team will work together to solve the problem. I really like the design of this hotel. There are some parts that are designed like movies “ Beauty and the beast”, with the blue wall color and the big mirror. Inside the room also gives a very comfortable feeling, the scenery outside the room is the best thing during this hotel visit.

I feel NOMO-SOHO is a very beautiful hotel. When i first heard that would be the site visit I was skeptical cause I thought it wasn’t like most of the other 5 star hotels. But I was really impressed, when I and my friends were trying to locate the hotel we came in contact with the back entrance first and it wasn’t really impressive then we heard that was the the back entrance and went through the front . It was beautiful the outside dinning they had, the lights and plants , the theme was beautiful and welcoming. Then we got it the employees welcomed us with a smile and they were really nice. They even offered us morning tea or coffee. The tour round the hotel was also very nice, we went from the most expensive rooms to the economic ones, the beauty and the beast theme was also nice, I noticed that in every room there was the robes, slippers and towels. Although there were rooms that had a bit of issues like the heater didn’t work or there was no wardrobes for the clothes in some. But I feel over all it is affordable and has nice things the customers could enjoy. The important thing I took from it all was the sales aspect. That would probably be what I would get into if I was to go into hotels or restaurants, they do all the go to world looking for new inventions or new things the hotels are getting in and also try to make it better or giving the hotel something unique that would attract customers. It was a wonderful experience.

What I love the most about Nomo Soho is how aesthetically pleasing and inviting it is. The incorporation of the neighborhood culture/art is such a thoughtful modern idea. Also the rooms no matter the size/price still seemed to accommodate date guests equally with same detail and effort. It’s definitely a hotel I would enjoy staying in. Preparing for a career in the luxury hotel market requires numerous skills. I feel as though the best way to be ready for such an opportunity is to be professional as you are a representation of yourself as well as the industry. You must have patience and be able to communicate since you will be communicating with numerous guests and co workers daily. You should have the knowledge and experience so you know what to expect in such an environment to know if that’s the route for you. I’ve learned that with networking its important upon what you know and sometimes who you know. Someone may be able to recommend/reference you to others which can align you with opportunities. The best way to take action during networking is staying connected. Whether you are supporting or making appearances to ones’ events or connected through a social media platform. You can also provide business cards with your information when meeting people. In case of Nomo soho sending out personal statements/Thank you letters separates you from others and makes your presence know in which they may be willing to invite you to events or to have exclusive deals.

I felt excited going to NoMo Hotel and experiencing what it is like inside. It did intrigue me as I learned a lot about how the industry runs. I really liked their fairy tale take on Beauty and the Beast with the royal blue walls and carpet, with dim lit lights in the hallway. The fancy, large mirror at every floor with guest rooms added to the style. Another thing I liked was their outdoor decor, especially the vine arch they have outdoors before entering the hotel. It was nice that they have a seating area outside as well, with street art and sculptures that gave it a modern feel to it. I liked how welcoming and friendly the employees were and how they gave the class snacks because it showcased their nice gesture, and not a lot of hotels would do that. I would like to say that the cookies were very chewy and delicious. The most significant information I learned at NoMo Hotel was that networking and communication is important between all departments. One way to have these connections is to be on LinkedIn, so that future employers will know who you are and what your goals are. Originally I was focused on wanting to work with food and beverages, but after learning about the other departments through the managers we have met, I am slightly interested in the housekeeping department. In order to network with people I have met, I can send them an e-mail if I ever have questions about a certain department within the hospitality industry. To have a career in the luxury hotel market, you need to be informed about what is currently happening in the hotel market and know how to be a leader and know what things you need to do to get the job done.

During my visit at the Nomo Soho hotel I had the opportunity to meet with many great individuals and learned how hotels works. we were able to visit many rooms from queen suits, king suits to the pent house. The moment we entered the hotel to the last second everyone at the hotel had great attitudes and were always smiling. The hotel itself was very nice inside out. One of my favorite thing about it was the location, although it was in Manhattan a place that Is suppose to be very noisy and crowded it didn’t feel like that. The surrounding was calm and the hotel itself was fantastic, the beauty and beast theme and color made the hotel stand out from other hotels that I have been to. Not only was I able to go around, I was able to ask the staff questions in different fields and network. One of the things I learned is that customers satisfaction is always important meaning, you always want them to come back and tell others so the way you interact and help customers always matter.

The NoMo SoHo hotel was a great place to visit and stay for the night. What I found most significant I learned at the hotel was that it is a 4-star hotel, with a lot of rooms and different types of suites. For example, at the top of the hotel building, their is a penthouse suite with a balcony you see the entire city, in every direction; north, south, west and east and a great view in the bathroom too. If I would take action to network with the people I met, I would tag them in my social media account. During the visit, I like how the hotel was design to make it look beautiful. For instance, the rooms and the hallways was design base on the “Beauty and The Beast,” where the walls painted blue, a huge mirror next to the elevator, and how wall lamps were installed in the hallways to give that movie experience. At the site visit, their was one aspect that made me want to work in the lodging industry, is to communicate with many people from different country, so I can increase my knowledge. After what I experience at the site visit, I feel not prepared because what if the person speak to me from a language I can not understand. This was my first time visiting luxury hotel like the NoMo SoHo and I felt very excited to experience what the hotel has to offer. I looked forward to visit the place again and book a room their, probably the penthouse suite.

I think visiting the hotel was a great opportunity for me, as I got to meet many amazing people as well as get a tour of the hotel. I got to learn about the different types of rooms and their different features, as well as the amenities they provided for their guests. For instance, the complimentary phone in each rooms that are meant for guest use, with preprogrammed emergency numbers, and guests are also allowed to take the phone out while traveling around the city. I also got to learn a lot from the people who showed us around the hotel, i learned that getting to work at multiple hotels or hospitality establishment is good for our experience, as well as maintaining well relationship with the team members throughout the establishment. I personally think that visiting the hotel was an amazing experience and I really loved the overall vibe and environment of the hotel. My first time ever visiting a four star hotel, I expected it to be very grand and luxurious looking where guests would naturally think that they should dress fancy, but that wasn’t the case for this hotel. I really liked the design of the establishment, the waiting lounge was really cozy and casual looking along with the plants that were decorated around the dining room; that it made me feel really comfortable.

Visiting and touring NoMo SoHo was a great experience. We got the not only see the variety of rooms and amenities they offer but also meet staff of various positions. The hotel has a unique location, beautiful decor and unmatched views. I felt inspired by the visit to NoMo SoHo. Hotels aren’t a branch of hospitality I was interested in going in. Seeing it first hand and meeting people that work there have widened my perspectives. I am particularly interested in the revenue department. During the visit I learned that I would prefer to work in a boutique hotel rather than a larger one because it allows for more personal relationships and dealings with other staff and guest. I also learned the importance of LinkedIn for networking around the industry.
