My name is Dongmin Lin. I am 18 years old. Currently I am a freshmen enrolling in the New York City College of Technology. I came from China, and Chinese is my first language. This September is the turning point of my life, because I went to the college. It is a new environment to me; it felt so unfamiliar to here. Although that I like here a lot. I never ever attend a school that is so far from where I live. I live in flushing, and I barley take the subway, Miss direction often lead me to get lost. I like children very much, I am a girl with a target, and I am also chasing my dream. I like stuff that is made by hand, such as knit scarf, cross-stitch. My passionate is about crafting, cutting papers and making small and delicate objects. I am also very patient. In the next five thru ten years I can imagine my self-sitting in a studio working with my good friends and colleagues. My design aesthetics are simple and easy also with some delicate detail in it. When I come to a new place I would be very shy, but I sincerely hope that everyone in our class can become good friend. I am an optimistic person.

My avatar is a photo of myself. My best friend took the photo. And it was taken on the way to school during last winterā€™s morning. This image is very meaningful to me. At the time, I lived with my best friend. My friend and I were in same class together. We nearly spend all our times together. My friend enjoys taking photos for me, and she helped me to record my life. We ate corns for breakfast every morning because we think eating corns can lose weight. You can me with black under eye bags because I donā€™t get much sleep, especially now I have college.

When people look at my avatar they might think I am a very active girl. Actually they are really misunderstood. I am very shy when I communicate with someone that I am not familiar with. Then you might think I like to eat corn. However, that is not what it seems. Actually I do not like to eat corn now. The reason I said this before is because it was that that time of the year, I was on my diet, and thatā€™s why am ate corn everyday. You rarely see me with make up. However, I like makeup. Makeup can make me feel very confident and it makes me feel like am a new person. However, I want to arrive early and be on morning in class, and thatā€™s why you donā€™t see me with the pretty makeup on in school.

My profile will convey my character, interest and my goal. You may think itā€™s very hard to communicate with me. But actually it is not. I want to upload this photo because I was a lovely and cheerful girl when you really know me. To be honest I like to make friend, and cherish every friend of mine. You may notice the hat and scarf in my avatar. Yes that is my favorite color, wind red. And the beanie and scarf have taken me a long time to weave. I know there will be countless mistakes before succeed, but I it wont hesitate me to stop trying. So I do not like to easily give up the things I am interesting in, even though it is difficult. But still, I will not lose my passion for advertising design. One of my goals is to graduate within four years. I know if I want to master the skill of English will not be easy. But I believe there will always have pay will have harvest.

First of all, I really enjoyed project4. Project4 let me learn a lot of writing skills. Learned how to convince others. If you want to convince someone must have sufficient evidence. There are two ways to collect evidence, the first field trip own, the second is transported there are external information such as finding evidence from the book, such as the newspaper or online. And the use of exotic materials used in the writing, the information requires careful written to the source.project4 is about a beautiful route is better than ordinary land line. First of all, I personally went to explore the beautiful route is better than the ordinary route, the fact that beautiful line gave me a lot of surprises and good mood, beautiful line worth me to spend a few minutes to go. Then I used the exotic information from the Internet for a beautiful place to find more information. For example, its history, people comment on it. Beauty and nature history can give a good mood, attracts you, easily left a deep memory in your mind. New York City is a very beautiful place, its beauty just need you to spend 10 minutes away to be found. This is a city where you live; you should know its beauty. But often you miss the beauty of it, because you lead a busy and tired every time, you select a destination to choose the shortest distance. The shortest route might be the fast way for you to get to your destination, but are you really happy about it In such a route where you will be bored and preoccupied with quickly reach your destination. But if you choose to walk a beautiful, make you have a good mood. And you might think that time is money, but money cannot buy a good mood. The good mood into work or study will make you more effective. For example, the detour from City Tech to Janeā€™s carousel, you will find that it is a pleasant journey.

The first stop is the penetration of Brooklyn War Memorial Park. There full of trees and flowers, the smell of fragrant flowers and trees, as if to let you get into the feel of nature. I too understand the struggle we all have, you have work I have school. However a little time of yours on your way home can change the whole mood, therefore just use it wisely.

In conclusion some might say the shortest route is the best resolution to the destination. We can always spend a little extra time to enjoy the great vista of the city of Brooklyn. life is too short for us just come and goes, so why donā€™t we all enjoy it better?

The Reflaction of “What If You Could Choose Between The Fastest Route and the Most Beautiful?”

This article is very interesting. I think it is involved with part of my project 2. My project 2 is about overlapping New York, and the article is about choosing the two the route of London. Usually, many people will choose a shortest route get to the destination. Only add seven more minutes, you will enjoy the happy, quiet, beauty journey. If you let me choose between those two ways of getting to a place, I will choose the route of beauty, quiet, and happiness. We can sometimes try to make a little change, and that might help us find out the true beauty of the city; maybe will make you happier.

Summary:

Jennifer Egan wrote an article called ā€œReading Lucyā€. This is a non-fiction article. The protagonist of this article is Lucy. Egan wrote a novel about a woman who works at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, so she met with Lucy. Therefore Lucy was her respondent, but the get along was short, because of work needs she has to go to California. After that there havenā€™t had any contact after. Egan attentive to know about Lucy, that from Lucy to her husbandā€™s letter and Lucyā€™s composition. Lucy was enthusiastic thatā€™s why she married speedy. Her husband left the house due to job job, they wrote letters to each other. Lucy usually wrote letter to her husband Alfred. By the time Lucy wrote to Alfred about her life as a ship fitter, as well as some humor event in her live. She praises her husband to express the love to her husband. Through reading about the letters Lucy wrote to Egan, Egan felt like sheā€™s living with Lucy; they are best friend; Brooklynā€™s every corner was full of the flavor of Lucy. Egan misses Lucy a lot, she dreamed him live with Lucy and she also imaged live with Lucy as real best friend.

Reflection:

After read ā€œReading Lucyā€ I felt Lucy was an optimistic woman. She really loves her husband with everything. I have always felt that distance that will affect ones feeling, but I do not feel it because I am the one who read the article, I have to be in her situation to know about her feelings. Even though Lucy did not live with her husband but they still keep connect with letter, and distance did not affect their relationships. By the way Lucy got a true friendship with Egan. Egan took time to get to know about Lucy. She care about Lucy, even dream lived with Lucy. So Lucy was an lucky woman she got true love and friendship.
