I came across this word in the book Night by Elie Wiesel on the bottom of page 18. At nine o’clock, the previous Sunday’s scenes were repeated Policemen wielding clubs were shouting: “All Jews outside!”

Now that i know what wield means i understand now that the police man had something in their hand as a weapon and were telling the jews to get out their house.

Lachrymose

Adjective

Tending to cause tears or try often.

My friend Kevin was explaining to me some facts about the Salem Witch Trials and he used this word to explain a certain custom that involved tears.

The death of Walter White turned me into a lachrymose person.

I learned that I could use this word to add more emphasis on someones emotions.
