Final Editorial Illustration Jonathan Lebron

My concept for this project is adoption. There are a lot of kids who go through the foster system and sometimes the families are mismatched. Because of this, the child could feel out of place and could lead to a variety of problems. There are a bunch of issues with the foster system but this I feel is an essential one.

For the illustration, I wanted to keep that idea of “mismatch” so I made a puzzle out of the adoption certificate and made a piece of it not fit intentionally. I chose to use a complimentary color palate of purple and yellow as this to me evokes a feeling of emptiness to me as opposed to your typical white negative space

Discussion 6 Jonathan Lebron

This Piece is a portrait of Bobby Hall aka Logic, This piece was made by my friend Jose Fernandez. Jose uses a limited palette of pink and blue. With how intense the shades are,it reminds me of an 80’s color pallete. With this portrait of Logic its interesting to see this pose in color as this pose is usually left for Black and White as it ties to the “Young Sinatra” persona but seeing it in these colors adds a new flow to it

Jonathan Discussion 5

This piece is made by a friend of mine his name is Jose Fernandez. The way Jose uses his methods to create value along with motion just sits right with me. If you look at the road and the tires you can see the lines are going in a specific direction to show the motion throughout the piece. Depth is also shown with heavy line weights with buildings in the midground and lighter line weight towards the back. we see more line weight in the windows to show more depth
