I chose an article about the ethical consumption of food in regards to haute cuisine. The article is essentially a meditation on whether or not it is ethical to indulge in an incredibly expensive, over the top meal at a fancy restaurant, when a huge portion of the world’s population does not have regular access to basic food. I’m interested in this article because I’m fascinated by haute cuisine, and also the ethics of consumption in general. The key stakeholders in this article are really fancy restaurants in general, people who dine at those restaurants, people who think dining at fancy restaurants is unethical, and various philosophers, although specific people, restaurants, and philosophers were named the article is really about the principles of this sort of situation. My mind map for my illustration of this article is below.
