Project#5: Written Assessment

JessicaAndRichardProject 2In Project#5, I learned how to create color interaction studies in this assignment we create four color interaction studies. In Group 1, we created 2 pairs of achromatic gray studies  by shifting value. In Group 2, we created 2 pairs of color studies by shifting value with color. In Group 3, we created 2 pairs of color studies by shifting hue however, not value. In Group 4, we created 2 pairs of color studies that are shifting hue and value. I learned in order to create a color studies of just shifting hue means that your just adding another color. In this assignment, I felt like I could have done better in my crafting and I felt like I should have understood more on the change in shifting hue. However, this project will help me in the future with color interaction. If someone asked me what is shifting hue in color and shifting value with shifting hue, I’ll understand and define it.  In the final project of project#5, I understood how color can define another. We were able to find color that define us and a image that represents us, this is one of the project I am proud of.

Project#2: Overlapping New York: Reflection

This is the second project we did for English 1101, the idea of the second project is to have an understanding a view and perspective of how New York is changing. For project two we are suppose to learn to think, view other than just reading an passage. Meanwhile, working on project two I recall spending  time on walking around City Tech, I manage to view differently between modern and older. Also, by applying Colson Whitehead’s idea presented in “City Limits” it help have a better understanding when writing the essay. New York is always changing and the meaning of juxtaposition describes the city differences between the old and new. The project will help us think about our daily life and how its constantly changing, how it will continue to change.

Summary: Camera Lucida by Roland Barthes

In the passage”Camera Lucida” Roland Barthes shows a sign of the true mentioning behind photography. Barthes shows images that are from the Koen Wessing, Nicaragua in 1979. There are many ways to show photographs that express the subject however, there is only few images that capture the forces. Barthes stated “Thousands of photographs consist of this field, and in these  photographs…one that is even stirred sometimes, but in regard to them my emotion requires the rational intermediary of an ethical and political culture.” In each image Barthes tries to show the situation presented and each photographs tries to show have an effect toward the people. Each photographs tries to question and get the people viewing to have a same perspective.  In the end photography is getting  people to understand what’s on the image is getting.
