Posterity

Posterity (Noun) :all future generations  EX: She’ll be remembered by posterity.

When I was reading the book “Looking Backward” by “Edward Bellamy”  on page 105 ,  I stumbled on a word that I had trouble using context clues. The word is Posterity and this word had me stumped.  When I was using context clues I figured the word meant  something on hold for the moment or long term, but when I went back to re-read the sentence it didn’t make sense to me . So, I had no option but to go online. once I found the definition,  I was way too off and thanked myself that I went online  .  I went to google images just to make sure I have a good understanding of it. The way that I would explain it in my own word would be,  that kids now are going to be the future tomorrow. An example would like Michael Jordan,  he left a legacy in the NBA and future generation will know who’s Michael Jordan because of his legacy .
