Sketchbook color exercise Matthew Rivera

For this week I decided to focus on complimentary colors due to the fact that we often see a lot of these in nature, clothing, logos, and illustrations, especially in comic books and other form of print media . With the designs in which i did i also wrote down what they were reminiscent of and what the color scheme looked like and what it can be used for. I love the concept of complementary colors , especially if they are done right and they can bring a design out when it needs to be brought out. For the little tree i did as well as the blue and orange flag i also incorporated some value like hatching and scribbling

Discussion 6-Matthew Rivera

This is the cover art for the second issue of the comic series “Deadly Class” drawn and inked by Wesley Craig, Lee Loughridge. The cover uses a limited pallette of White , pink, and blue and the medium is definitely digitally on a computer or tablet of some sort. This cover definitely exhibits color theory due to the fact that the blue compliments the white background in a very pop way and the white definitely goes with pink. I feel that Loughridge’s limited colors goes well with Craig’s art and the tone of the comic. Gritty, yet vibrant due to the setting of the story, which is the 80’s.
