Weekly Reflective Journal 7

This week I finished my four days on the job training for concierge. I was really nervous the first day even though I knew my trainer was going to be there by my side, I still didn’t know what to expect. As day went by I realized that 80% of the time I am doing the same thing I was doing at the front desk side. For example I was still setting up transportation on the magical express or doing foreign currency exchange. My trainers name was Michael and he was really understand and gave great feedback on things I should work on. This week I also got to go on a transportation tour which was to show me the different types of transportation options the guest have. During my tour we got to visit Victoria and Albert’s restaurant which is inside The Grand Floridian, I was so excited. Luckily enough we were able to meet with the Maître d and he told us about the different dining options, there 3 dining rooms, and some of special things they do for their guest. Each Guest is treated as an individual and you basically get your own customized menu and the chef will make sure that if you come back a different time and you’ll never eat the same dish twice. During this tour I also got a chance to go to Fort wilderness and I got to see the horse carriage that once use to go through Magic kingdom but know is on display down there. This week I got a chance to see a lot of cool new places inside Walt Disney World, so know I’m able to suggest more activities and things to see to our guest.

  1. Your knowledge of Disney is priceless, keep sharing all you are learning. It will help us all (i.e. correcting my understanding of fastpass) improve our understanding of all the hidden gems of Disney Resorts and Parks.
