Journal 1

My first week in Orlando and Disney has been an interesting one. I have had to face many new challenges as well as mixed emotions about my journey. My first real test was moving into an apartment with 5 other ladies all who I have only spoken to on facebook and all of which I am at least 10 years older than. After meeting them I respected the various personalities and styles and after a week it has been challenging but nothing I feel I cant handle. Traditions and orientations were fun and mostly informative. I was eager to start working. I was originally placed in Restaurantosauras in Animal Kingdom but ran into a bit of a situation. During my first interview I did explain to the interviewer that I had a visible tattoo on my leg and the costume of Restauranosauras was a dress so since that wasnt convey I had to get re casted for another location. I did finally get placed in Outdoor foods in Animal Kingdom. I have started my first day of training and so far it was a bit overwhelming so I am hoping that my next week or so of training becomes a lot easier for me to understand and to handle. I dont start my classes until September 16 and I am eager to start those. This week has given me a lot to think about and I am hoping that the coming weeks will be better.

  1. It is disappointing to the new hire when information does not get conveyed in the way it should but think about the logistical problems this caused your leaders. Always stay focused on the details. What may seem like a small mistake can have casting implications for a long time.
