Journal Entry 3

So its been a month since I’ve been working for Disney! I cant believe time flew by so fast. I Miss Brooklyn and going to City tech so much, but I’m also growing a custom to being out here. I also love when guest approach me and take not of my name and ask me about New York, I love talking about my state! Although some days my job can be slow I have learned to utilize my time by cleaning the boats and life jackets, which is helpful because it takes up so much idle time when guest don’t rent boats out. And my coordinators also love it. My favorite part of the job thus far is being able to randomly drive one of the boats, whether it is to clean it or having to go back and forth between the hotels I really enjoy being on the boat.

My classes are also going very well. For my experiential leaning class we had to read Michael J. Fox book called ” A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to The Future…” Its a book written by Fox that just explains his learning of life through experience and not necessarily in a class room. the book is really interesting and its a nice short read. I am enjoying his stories and his lesson and how he kind of found himself.

Hey Nadia! For me guest will look at my name tag, try to pronounce my name completely wrong. Then they say “Ohh, nice name, New York City College of Tech, Oh where is that at?” Cracks me up all the time!! But yes I do enjoy talking about my state as well, although they can tell I am Hispanic. So then they ask me where I am really from. Ha!

  2. That’s funny! I get the same reaction, where guest really want to know what my nationality is!

  3. I like to know that you are both from City Tech! You are making a positive impression for not only yourselves but our school as well. Thank you for that.
