Star Wars, Episode 3 revolves around a passionate love gone wrong. Anakin Skywalker has built up insecurities on what he feels others in the Jedi council believe him to be and grows more and more anger as they do not grant him a Jedi. Aside from his anger towards the councils decision, he holds many hurt feelings from finding out about the kidnap and death of his mother. After many visions in his dreams, he decides finding his mother but it was too late to save her. After both of these failures, he fears deeply to lose the love of his life, Padme Amidala, while she gives birth. As he continues to have visions of Padme in pain while giving birth, he is determined to growing more power to save her from death. Being in an emotional, vulnerable state, Palpatine (secretly Darth Sidious at the time) takes advantage to telling Anakin there is a way to save Padme, through the dark side of power. In the end, he joins the dark side, and Padme ultimately does not make it through childbirth. Anakin becomes Darth Vader, and the light side of the force and Jedi go into hiding, while Darth Vader and Sidious begin taking over the galaxy.

This movie is very detail and story oriented and thus would appeal more towards an audience of teenagers and older. These are based on books so there is a lot of information to keep up with chronologically. A Sci-fi fan audience would enjoy the Star Wars trilogies overall.

Final Project Part 1- Kayla W.

  • The movie name is The Greatest Showman. I think this was a successful and fun design as it includes all the main characters and has so many colors and it just pops. The film was about a man named Phineas who grew from poverty and fell in love with a girl named Charity at a young age who grew from riches, and he wanted to give her the same life her parents were able to give her. They got married and had two daughters, however his life was still hard because his job got closed down, and he was making very little money. He came up with the idea to create a show with people who are “different” in the way that they dont look how “normal” society sees everyone. This turned into creating it into a circus after a review from a critic called his show a circus. The building got burned down by people who rejected the idea of praising people who looked different, and then Phineas came up with the idea to put the show into a big tent by the end of the movie and it became very successful and his life was filled with riches from his success.

The audience for this movie is aimed toward anyone who enjoys fun, and circus, and musicals. Any age could enjoy this movie. It also gives a good message to never give up on your dreams, even when things are looking down, believe in what you can do, and put it to reality.

Sketchbook Week 11

Now that the weather is warmer it’s time to go outside and get some spring inspiration.

Fill two pages in your sketchbook with landscape outdoor drawings. Go to a park, someone’s backyard, a skate park, garden, etc. You can try drawing one page showing a wide shot from faraway and then a second sketch zoomed in on one area.

Or fill two pages with full landscapes. The theme is outdoors and spring. So make sure you focus on that. Feel free to include people and animals. Try adding color.
