The detour of the College student

Brooklyn in The morning can be hectic. On the way to school or work or even maybe back home you’ll never find peace and quiet in the main routes. You’ll usually encounter cranky rude disgusting people because its morning everyone hates the mornings people wish they could be back in bed sleeping. Getting breakfast now thats even more crazy the lines are ridiculous stores even your local food cart has a line so don’t expect to be getting to your destination on time if you plan on getting your important meal of the day. But their are simple easy ways to avoid these big crowds and getting to your destination without the mayhem and maybe grabbing something quick to eat.

One day I decided to take another route because I wasn’t feeling it that day. I started off my day regular I showered and walked to Main Street which is where I get onto the 7 daily. I luckily made it onto a 7 express train there is only a limited amount of trains that ride on the express line per morning if your not lucky you have to take the local 7 bound train. In the 7 train there usually is never a seat super packed and moody rude people I can see why though mornings suck to be honest. Once I’m on the 7 train I usually play music and sound out my surroundings and just focus on the stops. Depending on what train I make it on I get fewer stops on the F train or I get stuck taking more stops on the F train I usually pick up the F train from 5 ave if I’m a express bound train if I miss the express bound train I get the F train from 74th street because I don’t have the time to take the 7 local bound train all the way to manhattan. Its usually a mess getting the F train from 74th street everyone just pushy its a huge crowd trying to get down one escalator its just so annoying and I don’t feel like dealing with that. Once I’m on the F train I get out at jay-street and metro tech I didn’t feel like dealing with the crowd this day I barely got to sleep and I just wanted to get to point B and back to Point A. On this day I decided to go towards Jay street & Willoughby street yeah it was hectic still but ehh whatever at least I’ll be out the crowd soon enough once I hit the corner I turned left and walked down Willoughby street. Walking down I noticed pizzeria that sold $1 slices and delis and hair salons I really didn’t think city type areas would have delis. Once I reach the cornered I turned left and made my way up towards Lawerence street when I hit Lawerence street It felt like a street that was out of a movie road made out bricks It felt like I was in a movie. so I continued making my way up eventually I came across Myrtle ave there it really felt like I was in one of those college movies where the character chills out to grab food and eat on my left was chipotle which is always busy on the right was 5 guys which is busy depending on the time you go and in the middle of those two restaurant brands was a cart selling something I forgot to be honest. I walked up more I noticed the red circular table which you usually find dirty with the chairs not dirty for once the alligator statue on the ground which looked dope and then as I walked more I noticed the benches and beach chairs where empty for once you finally have a place to sit the pigeons chilling walking around in there horde and the tree which the leaves where falling off of it looked peaceful and was hectic as my usual route where I would have to dodge and weave my way through the crowd. Once I hit Johnson st I turn left and on the other side of the street I could see the new city tech building being constructed it has came a long way since august I noticed. Then I finally hit jay street back into the horde but hey all I have to do is cross the street and there I was so I didn’t mind.

There are many ways to make your morning walks less stressful and even in the horde of people. One way is finding a detour route you may never know what you find or can see out there. Another way is listening to music according to the according to 8 tips reduce Commuter Anxiety by therapist Marlynn Wei music is ways to relaxes you and let you clear your mind and space out but it depends on your music choices listening to angry music will get your heart rate to rise while calm music will keep you chilled out. She also stated that rage and anger isn’t going to make the train faster and that is true being angry doesn’t help instead all your doing is wasting your time while the train and Mta may be a pain anger won’t do anything but get you into problems just chill out and listen to music and don’t pay mind to anything next thing you’ll know is your train already there.

Project 4 draft

New York city is one of the most noisy and busiest cities in america. There is never a peaceful quiet moment streets are packed and it hard to get by. But there are backroads and quick short cuts that brings you to the same destination but just in a quiet peaceful route because there are some days you don’t want to be bothered annoyed or deal with moody commuters or the crowd you just want to get to point A and be in peace.

One day on my commute to school I was very exhausted  and cranky and didn’t want to deal with the crowd or moody commuters so i decided to take my own way around to school. I took my usual route the 7 train to the F train to get to Jay street and metrotech i walked down to the corner willoughby street and made a left and walked down a block. It was still busy but not really on that block i found a pizzeria that sold $1 and some beauty store. On that corner i turned at lawrence street and made my way back up. This way was quiet and peaceful no crowds nothing empty street. I walk up to blocks on myrtle ave That when i started to see things i saw chipotle on side and five guys on the other side then i continued to walk up and saw tables and chairs where people get to sit and eat and a statue of a alligator and big trees and chairs for people to chill out in and i continued to walk more up the block i noticed damn this feels like it’s straight out of a movie and it’s peaceful once i hit Johnson st. I saw the new city tech building being constructed and made a left to go up that block and then i was across city tech i just had to cross the street and go up. This commute took a little longer like 2-4 minutes longer but its was something more different than my usual route and more peaceful.
