I believe everyone has their own way of keeping the magic for the Walt Disney company. I personally believe that in order to keep the magic alive, you have to believe in the Walt Disney company itself. What I mean is that Disney is suppose to be the happiest place on earth and you can start preserving the magic by just being happy. Though people will have their good and bad days but at the end of everyday you need to think about why you are with Disney and what is the real reason you are working here and not for another company.
For me to keep the magic alive, I always go back to the reason for why I want to stay with the company. The Disney College Program was the reason I chose to transfer out of nursing and go into hospitality management. Like most kids, I grew up watching a lot of Disney movies and they were always amazing to watch even if it’s over and over again. Now being able to work for the company itself that creates all these magical moments for people worldwide, there’s nothing more I can ask for. Being able to stay with the company itself and continuing to believe in Walt’s dream its already a good enough reason for me to keep the magic alive. Even when the day isn’t going so well during work, the magic never dies. The reason is because being a cast member has its perks such as being able to access the parks and just by being in the park and experiencing the magic other cast members are creating is well worth preserving the magic for yourself.
In the article it talks about employee retention and how companies want to keep employees that have a lot of talent and skill sets that can help improve the company itself. What I believe is that the Disney company is a great place for people to grow and gain experience but since there are so many cast members, it might be a little tough. I see Disney as a place filled with cast members with too much talent and not much space to grow. I know that a lot of these cast members can strive in other companies but there has to be a reason why they chose to stay with Disney and not with another company. I believe Disney does a lot for their cast members and even things such as showing gratitude, recognition and praising to the cast members help them grow. I believe this allow the cast member to help Disney preserve the magic for the company itself as well as preserving the magic for themselves. Even a piece of paper such as a four keys card can help boost morale because it shows that the cast member is recognized and is not overlooked. I also believe that it’s Disney’s close attention to details that create magical moments not only for their guests but their cast members as well.
