Journal # 5

This week was full of surprises. I received my own section in the resort, this means I am in charge of  18 rooms for the week. A Family was with us for four days and left me an envelop for three of those days that they were there and gave great reviews of my work to my mangers.  I dint expect it but it encourage me to do a better job every day and not just with their room but in all my rooms. Its far from easy but its becoming more doable and im getting used to the work.  I left them a bunny and a dog made out of towels and stickers which are called special touches for our guest.

I decided to have some fun as well this week. I am in Disney world after all. As a result of being a housekeeper it has giving me an opportunity to meet a  lot of people in my role most of the cp themselves. We form a group called housekeeper anonymous from the all- stars, made of  a few girls and boys from the program. Since we get out at the same time its easier to go and explore the parks. We share our experiences of the day and  gives us a sense of reference to compare. Its great when we all know what one person is talking about.

  1. Surprises are great, especially when they are positive! Remember this week when the surprises are not so positive, you will need this time to help you keep the Magic alive!

Creating a network of CPs is so smart. Sharing your experiences with your peers (of women and men) will strengthen your understanding of both hospitality and networking. So much of what CPs are doing is developing their professional attributes both at work and outside of work. Enjoy.

  2. I nice to read about how resort cast member keep the magic alive at the resorts. Reading about the other half of a guest stay at Disney helps me see understand more on why guest stay at the resorts than other hotels. I don’t know many cast members who are at resorts so reading you post are very insightful and informative.
