Levo Leauge

Levo Leauge

Product/Service: At Local Levo [NYC], our goal is to bring together women interested in growing personally and professionally. It’s the perfect place to connect with other fabulous, career minded women in your city. There are always women from all walks of life who come ready and willing to share advice, personal experiences and support. What, in a sentence, does this company do/sell?
Founder/Co-Founders: Caroline Ghosen is the founder and Amanda Pouchot is the Co-Founder & CIO, The Levo League
Office/Headquarters: Address: 1 Union Square W, New York, NY 10003

Products/Services: Ghosn is launching Levo 2.0. The goal: to turn what she calls a “self-serve buffet” of mainly U.S. content into a global “recommendation engine for your career.” If Ghosn succeeds, Levo could become a model for using data to create more meaningful and lucrative ties with customers. “We’re always asked, ‘What should I be doing? Who should I be talking to?’” says Ghosn. “We want to create a resource that knows who you are and where you are in your career and can help you thrive in that stage.” How? By using psycho graphic data to understand the different types in her audience and marrying the information with advances in machine learning, so each user’s behavior will suggest what category best suits her every time she logs on. “The more you engage with Levo,” Ghosn says, “the more you’ll find you’re getting what you need.
Method of Making Money: Levo makes their money through powerful networks and investors. Through friends of friends, they signed on Saudi businesswoman Lubna Olayan. And using their McKinsey connections, they were able to contact Sheryl Sandberg, a McKinsey alum, just to name a few.
Target Customers: Women and girls within the first ten years of their career
How many current users/customers, they have about ten thousand members
How does the company advertise its product/services? And it helps to have support and 1.2 million of seed money from such investors as Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg and AOL’s Susan Lyne. Scoring interviews with such folks as Warren Buffet will also put you on the map.
Competitors/Competitive Advantage: I do not believe there is a competitive company

Genesis Media

Founder/Co-Founders:  Their founders are Richard Smullen, Josh Feuer. Their current CEO is Mark Yackanich.

Office/Headquarters:  Their headquarters is located at 49 West 27th Street, Mezzanine West, New York City, NY. They have offices in LA, Detroit, San Francisco, Chicago

Investors: SamStella, Ocean Group, Crown Predator Holdings, Blue Chip Venture Company, Demarest

Products/Services:  Outstream video ad product that uses an extensive data layer to decide when exactly to serve and how to do so.

Method of Making Money:  Selling video advertising on websites that do not have video ads of their own.

Revenue: There was no records on file for total revenue earned in 2014

Target Customers:  Their target customers are online advertisers, and publishers with no video content (article or photo gallery sites) on their websites so they can not take advantage of video advertising dollars.

How many current users/customers, etc: No available listing of how many users / customers they currently have.

How does the company advertise its product/services? I did not see any advertising for them as far as I can find. Only press releases.

Competitors/Competitive Advantage: Their major competitors would be Ebuzzing and Teads. Their competitive advantage is that they choose when to display the ad using a deep layer of data targeting.

Etsy.com

Product/Service: Etsy is a community based website where people can open their own shops and sell products that they have created. In other words people can create their own business on etsy.

Founder/Co-Founders: Rob Kalin and two friends designed the first site. Chad Dickerson became CEO in 2011.

Office/Headquarters: 55 Washington Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Method of Making Money: Etsy makes money when Etsy sellers make money. Marketplace revenue includes a $0.20 USD listing fee for each item listed and a 3.5% fee for sales completed on our website. Additional revenue comes from seller services including our advertising platform, payment processing and discounted shipping labels.

Target Customers:  Their target customers are people that want unique, handcrafted and one of kind items. I myself have bought several items from etsy and am in love.

How many current users/customers, etc: There are 19.8 million active buyers on etsy.com.

How does the company advertise its product/services?  I personally found etsy on Facebook. I was looking for a wedding veil and it popped up on the right hand side of my Facebook page. I clicked on it and there it was. All of these beautiful handcrafted veils. Of course I bought one.

Competitors/Competitive Advantage: Based on what I have read etsy does not have any threatening competitors. Etsy is the biggest company in their field. There are a few little ones but nothing comes close to etsy.com.

Dear hiring manager,

In regards to your ad on monster.com, I am very interested in joining your team of Content Innovation Agency in Ad Sales to assist in developing and creating digital content.

As you will see from the attached resume, I have extensive design skills that I believe will greatly benefit your creative team. My background in pre production work allowed me to acquire an enormous amount of design skills from which I was able to edit and create efficiently. There is no problem from which I could not provide a reasonable and proficient solution while also keeping in mind client request and product campaigns.

While acquiring my degree I have produced innovative projects that have broadened my view of product placement and typographical design. Although I have an extensive amount of knowledge in pre production and touch up work, I still have a vast amount of experience with other Adobe platforms as well. I am extremely detailed, organized, and meticulous. I’m sure my skills will be a great addition to your design team.

Best regards,

Dayna Rios.

They should be comfortable explaining their ideas to executive-level client stakeholders, and are able to understand and translate the client’s business needs into amazing but workable solutions.
About Me:

I have a very strong background in magazine development and pre-production work (Photoshop touch ups). I understanding close to all of the Adobe Creative Suite programs. I hope to work in a large fashion magazine house doing exactly what I love to do: edit photos and magazine column organizing. I would like to come in at a designer or artist position and eventually build up to an art director. I love New York for the financial/corporate aspect of it, and that’s the type of environment I hope to work in.

I can easily say that after looking through multiple sites and job descriptions, I had a completely different expectation. I can say this with both good and bad feeling. One of my personal fears in life was that when I graduated with a degree, it would be nearly impossible to find a career related job. Literally, this is a life long fear. But there are jobs out there related to my career. While searching for jobs I realized that there are jobs in my field. Not necessarily in magazine development, but definitely in the Advertisement Design field overall. The one concern I do have though, a lot of the jobs I found were for senior positions, not entry or regular positions. Of course with senior positions means a large amount of time and experience in the field, which as a college graduate, I don’t necessarily have. Sure, one day I would love to be a senior project manager or senior art director, but it would be something I work up to. I don’t even think I would want the position even if it was offered to me, simply I’m not the type of person to jump into something I know I don’t have experience with. That part of the job search does concern me. Another concern came with the entry or regular entry jobs that I was able to find. Like I mentioned earlier, the jobs were not necessarily in the magazine development area, where I would like to ideally be. But, more importantly, all of the jobs were in the online web advertising, or marketing. In today’s day and age, I get it. Digital and web plays a huge role in advertising. But, print is still a massive part of it. Until this day, companies pay a humongous amount of money for print ad’s over online marketing/ads. That is exactly where I want to be, with print ads. I personally HATE any sort of web design work. So again, I expected far worse before this mini job search. I was expecting to find little to nothing to be honest. It’s great to see that there are jobs out there.

Mini-job search :)

As a candidate for any/all employment opportunities my main qualifications are that I am a fast learner and I adapt swiftly to my new work environment and duties. I am excellent at time management and therefore punctual. I am also fully bilingual as I am a native Spanish speaker which facilitates my adaptability and diversity to a work place. I am presently looking for employment within my field which is the legal world. Although, I do have experience in the legal industry this was many years ago. My last employment title was Administrative Assistant, I am knowledgeable and skillful in the office setting and knowledgeable with chain of command and what is expected or required as office employee.

Most of the employers which I listed below, are legitimate jobs which I am capable of attaining. The jobs require experience in the office setting, some require a bachelor’s degree others just require experience which means I am a candidate. Legal offices in real estate, divorce, and litigation, some even require an additional language. However, because I know my legal job was many years ago, I am also applying to job postings that are in the office setting. I do not want to sell myself short and want to explore all my possibilities. If I do no find a suitable legal job to my liking I will then continue to work in the office setting until the desirable legal position is available to me and my needs.
