Grasp – verb

Definition: to take or seize eagerly

“Living in New York people grasp certain habits and often lose sight of the setting around them as if they’re wearing blinders.”

While reading a peers project I came across this word. When I hear the word grasp I think of the word understanding. For example the student grasped the topic. I learned that The word can be taken into a literal or figurative sense.
