My name is Akeira Ferguson. I’m attending City Tech with goals to graduate with my associates and baccalaureate in Radiology. I may change my mind a week from now or maybe a month from now. Based on that statement as you can see, I am a big procrastinator. I have problems with anxiety and crowds (small or large). I’m an open minded person but I can be very opionated at times. At times, I enjoy hearing new ideas and thoughts because it opens my eyes to things I may not have known. For me, college is an experience. You may agree or disagree but for those that don’t agree I’ll explain why.

Not everyone gets to go to college at our extent or don’t see it as an option for them but being that we are here, we are taking advantage of something good. I see college as an improvement on our life goals. Looking back four years ago, I didn’t think I’d be here. I thought I was gonna graduate with a job and work for a few years & after I’d make my decision on if I wanna go to school or not. It was less likely then compared to now. I’m happy about my decision now because I have grown as a person and I like seeing the same growth in others. It makes me happy to see other succeed as a youth. I feel everyone should take school serious but there are always obstacles or doubts.

School is important to me but so are my relationships and social life. With that being said, I’m very awkward and I don’t really know how to talk to people. Meeting new people is great but getting to know them is the hard part for me. My goal in the class is to be more social. From that I should obtain knowledge through my classmates as well as my teacher, more than I did in high school. I want to work on my writing and help others do the same, if that’s possible. Writing is a good way to express yourself or help others see your point of view.

I’m not very good with expressing myself to others but there’s not much to say about me. I wasn’t sure what to write or say because at this point in my life, I’m still finding and learning about myself. There is a lot I still don’t know about myself but I need time to understand that. Teaching myself and making mistakes.. I’m human so I’m not perfect, of course. Friends and family help me work on that and develop a more confident and well-grounded ME. I am still learning how to be selfish for all the right reasons.

Hey guys ! My name is Ish-shenelle Jones and i’m from Jamaica. I came to America at the age of 8 and had a rough time getting accustomed to the new environment initially but over the years I improved a lot. I attended a high school on Brownsville known as Frederick Douglass Academy seven. My school shared a building with another school so we had limited space and materials. Even though it was a small school I learn a lot from my teachers and always had someone to vent to. Even though city tech is not that big i hope to be to have access to much more resources and help that need in order to succeed. During my senior year I was missing one regents and had to retake it in January or June. I was in danger of not graduating with my class of 2017. I decided to retake two regents and pass both with a 75 and 80. I hope that in college I could stop procrastinating and further my knowledge in becoming a pediatrician. My major is liberal arts right now but I am hoping to change it soon to nursing.
