Documentation hw

The video I have seen, I’ve used. It is a very helpful video and the commentary is good because the video contains jokes and give people a comfortable vibe from the narrators. They go by each step and show you a close to accurate way to complete the task. It may not explain how to use the character, but it is a video for mostly people who play the game or know about the game. Also this video can be watch more then once if you need a refresher on how to do it. Since it is a video game and a video it is easier to show a task because there will be less explanation.

How to Gangnam Style…. HEY SEXY LADY!!!

So thanks to my aunt, my daughter loves Korean music. She is obsessed with Psy’s viedo Gangnam Style. She studies the video because she wanted to learn how to do the Gangnam Style dance. I had been looking for a “How To Gangnam Style” video for about 2 weeks. My daughter is only 3 so I needed a video that would do the moves slow for her and explain well them well for me. This viedo was almost the perfect video, however, the main part that they left out was the dance with the song itself. Yes, the instructor teaches and explains the moves well but in the end they put the dance together with some instrumental. I found that to be kind of dumb. But you cant get everything you want in life. I HOPE EVERYONE TRIES TO LEARN THE GANGNAM STYLE….

Documentation: For Dummies series

A good example of documentation, are the “For Dummies” books. This franchise offers books on just about any topic you can imagine. They take this topic and break it down step by step so that you can get the hang of it. I recently purchased a “Photo Retouching & Restoration For Dummies” because I would be doing a lot of work with Photoshop and other programs like it. Since I had no experience with these programs, the vocabulary used in class left me a bit confused so this book really helped with its explanations of what the key terms were and also the step by step of how to make a basic picture stand out. -Miguel Olivares

Joey- Documentation

So far shown in class was a couple of how to videos and I decided to go on the same route.  The video link below is a documentation showing the viewers on how to be a ninja.  In the beginning of the video it shows why one might want to become a ninja with the boy getting bully and asking if he was tired of getting bullied.  The point of the video is clearly comical use but it does go about in steps on how to become a ninja.  The video shows step wise what needs to be done and also demonstrates the actions.  At the end of the video it also shows a demonstration on how the steps should look like.  I viewed this video almost 5 years ago and was the first thing to come to mind when asked to do this blog post. Hope you enjoy it.

Narukami Basic OMB BnB Tutorial and OMB Applications

This particular video is a tutorial for the competitive aspect of the fighting game Persona 4 Arena. It is meant to teach the players of this game people who exclusively play the character Yu Narukami how to optimize and maximize his damage from any point on the stage when performing a “burst”, a multi use and very important mechanic in the game.

The tutorial runs through every possible set up this character has off a “one more burst” into high damaging combos. It starts off with the most basic mid screen combo then goes off into more specialized setups. It begins by teaching the player how to execute the combo properly and how do avoid “same move proration” which causes the combo to drop. It then moves on into a high light reel of the kinds of combos you can do with one more burst.

To say this video is for those with specialized knowledge would be a fair statement. The video assumes you know how to play fighting games, it assumes you know how to play persona 4 arena, and it assumes you know numeric notation and other terminology. This fair game however if you’re playing this particular game in a competitive environment chances are you already know how to play fighting games so those explanations would be redundant.  If you don’t this is the wrong tutorial to for you. Although I would have like an explanation in this video for same move proration since it’s a term that exclusively applies to this fighting game but it isn’t something addressed in the game manual.

Documentation: Sneaker Decreasing

For this documentation assignment, I watched a video on how to remove creases from sneakers. Presented to youtube by a trusted Sneaker adviser, “DelaKickks” , I learned the complete process for removing creases from sneakers and actually tried the process out. Its actually quite simple, all you have to do is stuff your shoe with newspapers, then wet the desired area (just a little bit), place a wet clothe of some kind on the desired area and then iron it out in the direction you would like to decrease. While doing this, I was surprised at how easy it was and how well my sneakers turned out. I felt that it was documented thoroughly and was easy enough for any one to understand. The link to the video is place below.

Documentation_

I know we watch a few videos on “how to” and I found a video on youtube in which the purpose is to teach the audience, how to remove scratches from any DVD. Documentation in form of a video is helpful if and how the creator demonstrates the purpose, evidence, steps etc. In this video the creator explains the process and at the same does the experiment for better understanding.
