Documentation hw

The video I have seen, I’ve used. It is a very helpful video and the commentary is good because the video contains jokes and give people a comfortable vibe from the narrators. They go by each step and show you a close to accurate way to complete the task. It may not explain how to use the character, but it is a video for mostly people who play the game or know about the game. Also this video can be watch more then once if you need a refresher on how to do it. Since it is a video game and a video it is easier to show a task because there will be less explanation.

Homework # 4- Zine

From reading the 3 links, i have come to a conclusion that all zines are strictly made as a smaller “Mood Board”. Companies always liked to make zines even tho they bring back low profit and most people think its a waste of money. However if presented and showcased correctly a zine can do your campaign a great service but to have a decent zine, you have to look up good examples and really understand a zine’s purpose. In the creative thinking link that was posted i think the author said it best when he stated ” If we are interested in understanding the world, we need to ask serious questions about the institutions that teach us about that world.” That statement can also be related to zine’s in a way where, if someone wanted to make a zine that was worth making then they have to understand why and how a zine works and what people look for in a zine. That is the big difference in between making a Mood board and a real professional looking article that looks like its straight out of a newspaper.

Producers of digital media (Homework #3)

I would have to say that today the biggest source where people get their news is probably from Youtube. Now-a-days people go on to YouTube and search for the latest new updates. Also people get other new information about other products like the latest video game or the next movie that’s in production. And not only do national television shows show content on the site but everyday people also post up news stories and millions of people watch them.

Another source people get the daily intake of information is anywhere online. All a person has to do is go to Google or Bing and just type in what they want to look for and a giant selection of information will be available to anyone who has a computer with Internet. Also written sources are also going digital because they know that people would rather spend nothing for an article they could just find on their own instead of going out of their house and “wasting” money on a $1.50 newspaper they could get at a local store.

Homework_2 Improved Technology

The media of public communications, such as news media which we know of, have often “interwined” as the author Pavlik described, with new technology startegies throughout time. While reading Media in the Digital Age I have learned about the early use of daguerreotype, which gave the newspaper media the quality of storytelling in including photo images. Next the use of technology to reach out the audience with daily news, through the radio and television. Pavlik stated that journalists and other media leaders should utilize technology more in order to keep news in particular existing. Agreeing to his writing keeping up with new and continuously technology, we can all keep informed by daily updates that we are surrounded by. There are a whole new technology resources such as blogging, internet, mobile devices, gps, tablets and so on. As the two videos assigned to watch, it supported the idea that technology has made our time easier for many things including the communication between others in search of information. Proving that technology could be used for positive outcomes.

Homework #2: Digital Possibilities for Literature

Digital Possibilities for literature discussed the change of literature since the process of posting and publishing online cost little to nothing, opposed to paying for hard copies. The author was really concerned about online reader/writers use of the web and how it disrupts economic principles. As a frequent user of social networks such as; Facebook and tumblr (an online blog spot), I always overlooked the fact that it was free. I never really thought about the economic aspect of freely writing literature online, I guess I just always took advantage of it. Why complain, it’s free?
As for the question posed by the author in the conclusion of chapter one about how can the Web support new writing and building lasting communities, I believe I have a possible answer to it. The Web 100% supports new writing all the time. The web allows you to broadcast/promote your own literature without a problem. You may not be receiving any money for it in the beginning but once you receive recognition from the millions of Internet users, money will eventually come. For example, even though Justin Bieber isn’t a literary author, he used a free online source (YouTube), to promote his talents and now he’s one of the biggest celebrities in the world. This could’ve happened to anyone; an entertainer, author, or a school teacher.
The question, “How does literature survive in the era of free content?” asked in the conclusion of chapter one is also something I really want to hear other peoples opinions on.
