Creation and Dis. Digital Media- Sabrina Martinez

It cost less money to create and distribute media in the world we are living in.  Camera crews have been down-sized and film handlers have been laid off. Although it has made life much easier for digital producers it has almost and completely shut out the film world.  As we spoke about in class that movie theaters would have to wait until new released movies were delivered personally, it was a waiting game. However, now that movies are delivered digitally it make life much easier. Technology has made it easy for people to get over and download all kinds of media for free. Yes, I am one however, I tend to not download as much because the quality of the videos and music files that are online have lost their quality.

Producers of digital media (Homework #3)

I would have to say that today the biggest source where people get their news is probably from Youtube. Now-a-days people go on to YouTube and search for the latest new updates. Also people get other new information about other products like the latest video game or the next movie that’s in production. And not only do national television shows show content on the site but everyday people also post up news stories and millions of people watch them.

Another source people get the daily intake of information is anywhere online. All a person has to do is go to Google or Bing and just type in what they want to look for and a giant selection of information will be available to anyone who has a computer with Internet. Also written sources are also going digital because they know that people would rather spend nothing for an article they could just find on their own instead of going out of their house and “wasting” money on a $1.50 newspaper they could get at a local store.

Homework 2

A picture is worth a thousand words. With the invention of the daguerreotype reporters, were able to share what they were seeing at scene. John V. Pavlik the author of the, In the Digital Age, mentioned the daguerreotype image as enriching the storytelling abilities of the newspaper medium. To think how powerful a simple picture was back then. Image if a person living in the 1850’s could travel to the future. He or she would probably start a blog, on how great, useful, and easy the new technology we have now. It’s amazing how much technology has improved. Along with these improvements, the way in which information is shared and sought has become easier. People could get the news, read magazines, and research all on their phones or tablets. We no longer have to wait for the  tomorrows newspaper, ten clock news or the gossip show on Thursdays night for information. We could easily obtain information on what’s going on in the moment by having access to the World Wide Web.  Now we are able see to images, videos, and have to ability to comment on them. We could post your own information and correct other people’s information. The creation of wikis allows us to, like the infamous Wikipedia.
