Learning Log #8

I had difficult time trying to take a picture of the strawberries near a window. However, I believe I was able to get three good pictures of it, two are of the food product and one was to be funny. As I was taking my picture, my puppy tried to get the strawberry but I stopped him. The struggle of taking a photo indoors. however I was able to get two good photos of the strawberries looking really good to eat. I washed them to get a good moist strawberry, also I had a paper to reflect the light a bit more for the bottom edge.

these were a fun challenge ive never tried doing food photography before and i dont often use natural light to light my subjects so this was a good challenge to find the best angles for each item. i practiced i=with a variety of zoomed out pictures and i felt this is the one that turned out the best. as for the other photographs i really like close up shots of products so i always try to shoot a variety of close up and these really highlight the freshness of each item.

Using the light from my window, I shot the bowl of trail mix getting the soft light from this time of day. For the first shot i set the bowl on the bottom right corner just to play around with angles. In the second one i just got a close up of the trail mix and for the last one, I used the wide lens on my phone to get an overhead shot of the bowl

Food Photography

For todays class, our focus was on food photography. As the name mentions, we took pictures of food and I decided to stick to fruits. My main focus was to mostly rely on the shutter speed, lighting, and apeture. I took pictures in different locations in my house but the ones that came out the best were the ones in my room.  I used the sunlight as my means of lighting. There is a slight forecast so that help me get some amazing lighting effects.

First I would like to Thank you for pushing some actual healthy food into my body during this quarantine that was filled with hot pockets and little bites. During this exercise I utilized some fruit I found in the fridge. I used a small dish to get the fruit real close together. I went back to my room for the lighting because I have a shelf right next to the window. utilizing the exposure mainly helped me capture these photos.
