For my final editorial illustration piece, I’ve decided to go the more traditional route. At first, I was going to do it all digitally, but I wanted to try and see how it would come out if I painted it with acrylics. My overall topic is centered around global warming and would be created for the publication, the “New Scientist”. The piece is composed of arctic ice forming as a polar bear, after all with the increase of heat within our atmosphere, polar bears will continue to have their habitat’s wither. The mediums I’ve used was acrylic paint, but I wanted to try blue as a monochromatic color. Even though within my illustration there’s three forms of blue, I’ve only used two blues and experimented with them by mixing them. Link to the article and my color inspiration will be linked below.
About This Course
This course is a practical introduction to the field of illustration. The focus will be placed on process work and professional practices, presented within a contemporary and historical context. The course includes projects and lectures in a variety of illustration genres.
