1. Write your reading responses in the section titled “Student Posts-Reading Responses.”

2. If you have missed a synchronous class meeting, please read the weekly PowerPoint (note it is divided into Tuesday and Thursday) and complete all of the activities and write a response in the section of OpenLab titled “StudentPosts-Weekly Activities.”

Day 4: Thursday, March 18th

  3. Identify the genre elements of articles. Discuss the many different subgenres of articles (scientific journal articles, feature articles, sports articles, news articles, reviews, editorials, opinions, essays)
  4. Discuss “I’m Not Black, I’m Kanye” by Ta-Nehisi Coates and “Why I’m Behind the Athletes’ Bill of Rights” by Cory Booker.!

  1. Find 3 additional sources for your project. For EACH source write down:
    • The title and author of your source
    • The genre of your sources (be VERY specific)
    • The proper MLA citation of your source
    • The reason you think this source might be helpful.
  2. Write down 5-8 research questions (they can be based on the questions you wrote on your KWL chart!)
