COMD3504 - Section OL69 - Spring 2022

Discussion 3b-Ivan Vargas

I’ve picked the T-Mobile ad just for the humor. Immediately when the video begins we got a paper that states INTERNET BILL in red follow by three money signs. Now to me this this Zach’s internet bill because how big the words and it camera if focus on that shot. Yes it over exaggerated but it also doesn’t tell us the amount but we can see it cost a lot base on how big and bold the money sign is.I’ll skip to the next scene where Donald Faison bring the laptop to show Zach about how much he’s saving. Of course the laptop shows  an ad, We see that word save is all big and bold and also 50% is the same as well. We know as a society 50% means half because that’s how we interpret half. We then see at the bottom the logo of T-Mobile which is the letter T with two square each side of the T. To the right side we got 5G the wifi symbol and the bottom just internet. Now we know that two curves and dot  means wifi we see it in our phones, computers etc that means wifi. So T-Mobile did a smart move to include that that symbol to make people aware. Even the the idea of 5G which language to refer to fast internet speeds without saying anything.Lastly the ending of ad were get the line internet without B.S, clearly they their demographic were young adults to adults because we know that now a days. The internet is we’re focus on, so want fast internet and some times it’s difficult because we don’t always get the speed were promised and the amount is too pricey. Which I think it’s a person would say if describe their bad quality of their internet. I think T-Mobile did okay, but I don’t think it was top best. But try it’s best to sale their deal.

I completely agree that the T mobile really did a nice job with this commercial. Also I love the fact that you explained all their strategies in a detailed manner.
