This is my project regarding college athletes not getting paid by NCAA.As a former athlete i believe it’s unfair since the NCAA is making money off of people who are showcasing there talent. The focal point is on the left side you see the athlete in a basket ball court with the bench players cheering him on shooting the “Money Ball”: On the court floor it says get the bag symbolizing for the players to get paid.On the other hand we see a judge trying to stop the athlete from making the money get in the basket while protecting his assets awhile with the jurors look on That’s the focal point.If we look closer there is also movement in the center regarding the athlete shooting the money ball : The feet looks like it’s getting off the ground.Looking at the judge side you can see his robe looks like it’s moving to the athlete while his feet are behind the robe in a tippy toe position.

My imaginary being is a supernatural being wanting to be a pretty mermaid but in order to create her body to move around, she had to use items she found underwater. I imagine this kind of character desperately wanting to have a body and look pretty that she did her best in creating a body with what she could find in the depths of the ocean. She would do her best to maintain the items she collected in good shape and constantly look at herself into a mirror thinking that she is the prettiest of them all. Though if anyone was swimming underwater and ended up seeing her, they would properly end up freaking out instead, especially once she starts to swim towards them. What I used for this collage was printing images, scissors, glue, and bristol paper. Most color focused is on the being while the background is monochrome.

Above is my imaginary being, a beast inspired by the book of revelations. The beast was assembled using at least five different textures that I found online, along with gouache paint to blend it all together. There is use of movement within the composition in that the beast is lunging to attack the lamb. The sky was made of clouds using grey scale. I think the focal point is found in the face of the beast along with the other faces and the lamb. Tension is found between the paw of the beast and the lamb. Shade was used throughout the work. As far as perspective goes, there is also a horizon line but no vanishing point. I chose to create this imaginary being because a lot of things that I see going on in the world seem to correlate to what is described in the book the bible. So I decided to create my visual interpretation of what’s written.

This imaginary being is inspired by both past and current events. This being is supposed to look very divine, it’s supposed to represent how our phones are something that we can never let go. I tried to connect it to religion and how in most religions, people can never live without their god. The background is a piece of paper that I found from a christian magazine. It showcases a sunset like background, that all the more contributes to the calm and cool nature that the being is releasing. The head of the being is showing a modern side to things as well. In the moment of the current epidemic, cell phones and other technologies are being used now more than ever. We are using it to contact with family far away, to communicate through FaceTime with our professors, and submit homework online. Without today’s current technology things would be so much different and communication between people would be much harder.

“Although I didn’t follow instructions with the white border”. My focal point is what really grabs your attention first? is it the Bunny on the right side? The Three Eye Monster in the middle? or the Smoking Skull on the left side? I let the viewer decide. There’s a lot of value in this painting as if you look at the bunny you can see the black is mostly the dark areas on the rabbit such as inside the ear, the whiskers and eyes. For the smoking skull, the cracks on the skull can be seen as a shadow also the eye can also be seen as a shadow. Background wise can also be seen as a value if you look on the bottom left all the way to top left you can see dark on the bottom and it gets lighter as it goes up. I also incorporated some movement towards the middle of my three eye monster with the tears flowing down from top to bottom. There’s also a gradient with the grays with a darker gray in the bottom and the lightest gray on the top.

My Imaginary being is somewhat based on the Statue of Liberty and all the people who work to end injustice. She represents all those who aren’t in power and their voices aren’t heard. Surrounding her are newspapers in the background showing the climate of the world focusing on money and stocks. She stands on two parts of the border, the left is a shrine to the immigrants that died and the right side calls for reform. A homeless man sleeps on the left and a sign on the left from a homeless person says Once I was like you. My imaginary being is a beacon of hope for those yearning for the goal of utopia. The focal point of my project is the beacon of hope she stands out because the background is made up of grayscale. I cut up pieces of different textures to make her clothes pop out and made her standing above protecting those in need around her.I tried to make her have the same silhouette as a picture of the Statue of Liberty I saw. 

In this project I created a cyclops who has a genie like tale. With this composition I ripped out articles from various magazines and glued them down for the background. The words from the magazines give a little texture, this goes well with the concept of the background being a cave because they act like the rubble and rock like features that are present in a cave. I used the gouache paint to bring the background to life using a black and white value scale. The top of the artwork is black and the bottom is left to be the color of the magazine while the middle shifts to grey. I purposely made the paint brush leave streaks so that there is a sort of rhythm to create the illusion of the stalactite that are usually formed in caves. To create a sense of balance with the top and bottom of the art I painted spikes to act as rocks. Overall the piece has an asymmetrical balance which creates a sense of unity with the background and the imaginary being.

The focal point of my imaginary being is clearly my imaginary being. But to make it stand out even more than it is it is filled of different colors. The composition of the background is random, but the rhythm of it is very smooth. Although I wanted the imaginary being to be the focal point, I did not want viewers to draw away from the background and that’s why I incorporated bits of color in the background. It has a bunch of triangles overlapping each other and it may be hard to see, but there are also four separate big stars on each side of the imaginary being. The facial expression of the being is clueless. It does not know where it is or anything about it’s surrounding. It is lost. The four big stars that are hidden in the background signify its “senses”, but it is hidden and lost in the unknown just like the being.
