So this week has been a great one so far, work is going great. Even though as a housekeeper I dont get to interact with the guest as much, I get to create magic for them in their rooms, I love fixing up the plush toys. In one room i noticed that the child was obsess with Elsa from the movie Frozen, I saw that she had the whole Elsa cosume, so I layed it all out on the bed and left a note saying ” Welcome back Princess Elsa, hope you enjoyed your day and didnt freeze anything on your way here – Mousekeeping 🙂 “. I really enjoy doing stuff like that because I know it makes the guests day even more magical, and being a cast member for Disney that is part of my job.
I went to Animal Kingdom with one of my roomates, I saw Donald duck and got on alot of rides but my favorite was the Expedition Everest.
Ninoska mine too, I think that’s one of my favorite parks in Disney besides Hollywood.
I do the same when I am cleaning rooms for the night. One night i had to do a late service but the door battery was dead and the guest was waiting until a front desk runner came to open the door as I as well could not open the door. The guest started to talk to me and ask questions about the parks and my current internship at Disney. She was extremely friendly and I asked her how her stay was. It was not a good start for her which one was that the door battery died and could not get into the room, her luggage came 5 hours late, she was miss informed about certain things at the resort. I felt bad and i wanted to create magic moment for her. After the front desk runner came and open the door, I told her that I would come later to do a late service because I knew she wanted to get changed and ready to go for dinner but she told me no its ok ill just wait for tomorrow although she did request new towels and a pillow. After an hour passed I was able to get inside the room after knocking three times as we follow housekeeping procedures. As I was replacing towels and bringing a pillow I called my Dispatcher and told her I would do the late service now because I noticed the linen was covered with glitter. After I cleaned the room I left special touches on each bed and a note. I yet have not seen her but I hope the rest of her stay is magical.
I love how in housekeeping you don’t get a lot of guest interaction but you still are able to create awesome magical moments like that. While my magical moments are mainly fixing thing with there reservations or getting them that fast-pass or dinning reservation they really wanted. By the way Animal Kingdom is my favorite Disney park and Expedition Everest along with Festival of The Loin King are my absolute favorite attractions.
