Jounal Entry #5

This week at work, we had a lot of foot traffic which is great for both Swan and Dolphin Disney’s stores. There was a lot of conventions that took place along cheerleaders and their families which brought in crowds. The cheerleaders competition this time was taken place along the broad walk and the Swan and Dolphin conventions rooms. It was surprising how young some of these girls are and how devoted they were. I ask one of the guests, a male, how long have he been cheering and replied 12 years. His commitment and devotion was both surprising and astonishing.
I try my best to spend most of free time at the park if I am not too tired. On one night Keriann, Andrea, and I went to the Coral Reef and an amazing dinner there. It felt like we were in an aquarium once we entered the doors. As we were eating, the food we saw many fishes, sharks, and turtles. Lucky for us, the day we went was also the first day of the Flower and Garden at Epcot. I love all the little details Disney has put into each locations. For the show, all the flowers were perfect. At Epcot, we went on Test Track it was so much this was definitely my favorite ride. I can never get tried of it. That night was also my first time seeing IllumiNations; it took my breath away. I have seen fireworks before, but IllumiNations was honestly the best one I had ever seen.
I also went to Magic Kingdom this week along with two of my fellow cast members Ana and Molly. I like working at the Swan and Dolphin because there is only six people from the college program so we are all pretty close. This time around at Magic Kingdom, I finally rode the Its a Small World ride for the first time, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Usually at these rides, we would have to waited more than 45 minutes. Lucky for for us, we did not have to. The secret is that when wishes are starting, go to the rides that usually have a long wait times because everyone will be at wishes. I rode big Thunder Mountain twice. As we were riding it the second time, wishes was starting so along the ride I was able to see wishes from another point of view. It was so amazing to have the fireworks behind you as you are riding this ride. The more I spend my days at the parks, I feel very lucky that I have this opportunity to do it on this college program something most people do not get to do.
