I was really looking forward to working this week because this week is Thanksgiving. This will be my first day working on a major holiday and I wanted to experience how it would feel like working on a holiday. I also found it really nice that management gave all the housekeepers a pot luck lunch the day before Thanksgiving as a thank you for all the housekeepers. I was also told by housekeepers that a lot of people rather not work on major holidays because the rooms are usually a mess and guest normally would not leave tip for them. I didn’t really care about what I was told because I was just excited to work during Thanksgiving. Also this week, the giant Christmas tree was installed inside the Wilderness Lodge and it looks amazing in the lobby especially seeing it from every floor in the the lobby section.
Also I forgot to mention in my previous journals that I accepted an extension into the spring semester. I am really excited about it because I will not be in housekeeping anymore. My new role will be bell service dispatch/greeter. I am super excited because I was told this role was really hard to get into and I feel that my managers helped me obtain this role by putting in a good word for me if the program contacted them.
