Personally as a housekeeper, I try to make every room seem like something magical happened while the guests were gone. While im cleaning the rooms im also thinking and looking to see if I see any stuff animals, toys, princess dresses etc, that I can use to make the guests magical moment more personal . Thats one thing my managers always tells us, don’t leave the guests room without leaving some type of special touch. When I first started my training I wondered why was it that we had to do the special touches, but now I understand and see how the guests are touched by the little special touches we leave behind for them to see. There was one time i was cleaning a room and saw Disneys postcards, a plush mickey, and a photo booth picture of the princess staying in that room, I sat mickey on the bed holding the picture and just placrd the post cards on the bed. I didnt think much of it, but when my manager went in the room, she found the special touch so touching that she took a picture of it to show to the other managers.
Disney provides their full time cast members great benefits and perk. Not only do they get the free entrance to the parks, but they are also privided with great health plans the 401k plan. Everything goes by senority, if two cast members request a day off they have to look at whos hire date was first and thats who gets it.
Keeping the magic alive its what keeps Disney alive. Disney takes great pride of what they do thats why they make sure to hire the right person to do the job right. We go through the intense traditions class, the on the job training classes and then we are on a training period for 3 months when we start working. Working here at Disney has been one of the greatest experience, I can actually say that I look forward to going to work every morning even if I have to wake up at 6 am, its all worth it.
